The Toyota Crown Signia 2024 is the successor to the Venza and is one of the four models in the new Toyota Crown lineup.
Recently, the Japanese automaker introduced the 2025 Toyota Crown Signia at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show. The Toyota Crown Signia 2024 is the production version of the Crown Estate prototype that was unveiled by the company in Japan in 2022.
In the US market, the Toyota Crown Crossover is seen as the replacement for the Avalon, while the Toyota Crown Signia will replace the discontinued Venza. It is expected that the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 will be available in the US market next summer.
The Toyota Crown Signia 2024 is based on the Toyota New Global Architecture K (TNGA-K) platform, which is also used for the Crown sedan. The car will have a larger size than the Venza and offer more practicality and utility, with a towing capacity of up to 1,225 kg. The specific dimensions of the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 have not been announced yet, but it is expected to have the same length x width x height of 4,930 x 1,880 x 1,620 mm and a wheelbase length of 2,850 mm as the Toyota Crown Estate in Japan.
In terms of design, the Crown Signia 2024 features Toyota’s latest design language, with a distinctive Hammerhead front end. The car is equipped with a narrow, borderless grille that is quite similar to the new generation Lexus RX. The LED daytime running lights are slim and sweep back to form a C shape. The headlights are placed low and connected to two air intakes. The front bumper features a wide inverted trapezoidal center air vent.
On the side, the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 has raised crease lines running near the bottom of the windows and a low roof, giving the SUV a sportier look. The car is equipped with 19-inch or 21-inch wheels, depending on the version.
At the rear, the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 features a slim, horizontal taillight cluster that stretches across the width of the car. Below the taillights is the small Toyota logo.
Inside the cabin, the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 has a two-row seating layout with five seats. The crossover model comes in two interior color options: black and brown, both with copper accents in some details.
The Toyota Crown Signia 2024 is available in the US market in two versions: XLE and Limited. The XLE version is equipped with a digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch center touchscreen display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. The car features a 3-spoke steering wheel with integrated function buttons and paddle shifters. Other features include power-adjustable front seats, fabric seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with heating, power tailgate, a 6-speaker audio system, wireless phone charging, and five USB ports.
The Limited version of the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 comes with leather-upholstered seats, heated/cooled front seats, heated rear seats, a fixed panoramic sunroof, a digital rearview mirror, and a JBL Premium Audio 11-speaker sound system.
Notably, the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 features soundproof glass and an engine cover made of noise-reducing material.
Under the hood, the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 in Japan is powered by a single 2.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine, accompanied by two electric motors. The powertrain produces a total output of 243 horsepower and is mated to an e-CVT transmission and four-wheel drive. The drivetrain can divert 80% of the power to the rear axle to limit front wheel slip and reduce head pitch when needed.
The car offers five driving modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, Eco, and EV. The EV mode allows the car to run on electric power for a short distance. The Toyota Crown Signia 2025 has an average fuel consumption of about 6.53 liters/100 km, according to the manufacturer.
In terms of safety, the Toyota Crown Signia 2024 is equipped with the advanced Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 driver assistance package, which includes lane departure warning, lane keep assist, pedestrian detection, automatic headlights, and eight airbags. The Advanced Technology option adds low-speed traffic jam assist, lane change assist, and a 360-degree camera system to the car.
