Yamaha Vietnam has recently introduced the new generation YZF-R15. Along with the standard edition, the YZF-R15M has also made its appearance.
The fourth-generation YZF-R15 is priced at 78 million VND, while the YZF-R15M is available for 86-87 million VND, which is 8-9 million VND more expensive. The previous generation YZF-R15 had a price tag of 70 million VND.

From being the most affordable sports bike in its segment, the YZF-R15 has now become the most expensive model. Its two competitors, the Honda CBR150R and Suzuki GSX-R150, are priced at 71.29-72.79 million VND and 71.99 million VND respectively.
“A price above 80 million VND will pose challenges for the YZF-R15M. Customers who are considering a 150cc bike might have reservations about the price of the YZF-R15M,” Mr. Tu (Ho Chi Minh City) shared his thoughts with Zing regarding the price of the Yamaha YZF-R15M.

Compared to its predecessor, the new YZF-R15 has undergone significant changes, both in terms of design and features. This sports bike model now showcases a design inspired by its “elder brother” R-Series models, particularly the YZF-R7. The YZF-R15M variant features differences in the rear seat, front shock absorber, fuel tank, and more.
Yamaha equips the fourth-generation YZF-R15 with the same 155cc engine as its previous version. This engine delivers a power output of 19.1 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm. It’s worth noting that the power of the new YZF-R15 is slightly higher than that of the CBR150R (17.1 horsepower, 13.7 Nm) and GSX-R150 (19.1 horsepower, 14 Nm).

When it comes to technology, the new YZF-R15 stands out compared to its competitors. This sports bike model offers features such as quick shifting, a 2-way slipper clutch, 2-channel ABS brakes, and traction control. These features are exclusive to the YZF-R15M version.
In conclusion, the higher price in its segment might pose several challenges for the Yamaha YZF-R15 in terms of customer outreach. However, the enhancements in terms of features and design do offer a unique selling point for this model compared to its two local rivals.
