Despite being discontinued in 2016, the early models of the Rebel 250 are now considered rare in Vietnam. These motorcycles are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate Honda’s timeless Cruiser line.

One such collector is Mr. Quang Tú from Hanoi, who owns a limited edition gold-plated Honda Rebel 250 from the inaugural production in 1985. This vintage motorcycle is a rare find in Vietnam.

In an interview with Vietnamnet’s motorcycle section, Mr. Tú shared, “This motorcycle is part of a limited production edition from 1985. The gold-plated details on the motorcycle are original and 100% authentic, plated by the Japanese manufacturer. Despite being 34 years old, the motorcycle has only traveled 4,550km. It was officially imported by the previous owner, who was a collector and passed it on to me.”

The original engine delivers 16 horsepower, with a top speed of 110 km/h. Shifting gears is smooth and easy, ensuring a steady acceleration. The Rebel 250 remains agile even in heavy traffic due to its weight of 150kg and low center of gravity. It provides a comfortable ride at an average speed of 80 km/h.

The Rebel 250 boasts ideal dimensions, weight, and seat height, appealing to a wide range of riders. With a wheelbase of 1,450mm and a weight of approximately 150kg, it offers stability and maneuverability. The seat height of just 600mm from the ground makes it easy to handle, even for riders of smaller stature.

The Rebel 250 features a large single headlight.

The Rebel 250 is distinguished by its large single headlight and centrally positioned instrument cluster. It is equipped with a 33mm Showa fork for the front suspension, and the rear suspension offers 5 adjustable settings for solo or passenger riding. The motorcycle has a fuel tank capacity of 9.8 liters, with a reserve of 2.6 liters, and access to the tank is provided through a small lock located on top.

Mr. Tú stated, “At the time, this motorcycle was worth the equivalent of several gold bars. However, not everyone could afford an officially imported motorcycle. As a motorcycle enthusiast, I have a passion for rare finds, which led me to acquire this unique piece. Some similar motorcycles have been sold for up to $20,000 (approximately 450 million Vietnamese Dong) by other collectors.”
