The off-road SUV Tank 700 Hi4-T 2024 reveals its technical specifications, pricing will be more affordable compared to the limited edition

Tank is a premium off-road vehicle brand under Great Wall Motor. It was introduced in 2021 and currently the lineup includes three models: Tank 300, Tank 400 Hi4-T and Tank 500. Tank plans to introduce two more models next year, the SUV 700 and 800.

The gasoline version of the Tank 700 obtained a sales license in January this year. However, it was not put into mass production. It seems that GWM decided to launch it domestically as a PHEV-only offering. And the modified gasoline-powered version will be sold overseas.

As mentioned, Tank pre-sold the limited edition of the 700 Hi4-T at the Guangzhou Auto Show. Its production volume was limited to only 70 units. The special edition Tank 700 Hi4-T features a large grille, wide fenders, sporty bumper, and a roof spoiler. Its dimensions are 5110/2122/1986 mm with a wheelbase of 3000 mm.

Tank 700 is positioned as a heavy-duty off-road vehicle. However, the approach angle and departure angle of its limited edition are not that impressive at 22 and 26 degrees, respectively. It runs on 275/50 R22 or 275/60 R22 wheels. The limited edition has wider front and rear tracks: 1800 and 1813 mm. For comparison, the regular version of the Tank 700 Hi4-T has front and rear tracks of 1742 and 1757 mm.

The regular Tank 700 Hi4-T has a more modest exterior with a smaller grille and bumper. Its approach angle and departure angle are quite impressive, at 32 and 33 degrees, thanks to shorter overhangs. The regular version of the Tank 700 Hi4-T uses 22-inch wheels with tire size 275/50.

In addition to the different exterior styling and front-end details, the limited and regular editions of the Tank 700 Hi4-T are largely similar. The Tank 700 Hi4-T has a limited weight ranging from 3,110 to 3,195 kg. The gross vehicle weight reaches 3,630 kg. Inside, these SUVs have five seats. The Tank 700 can tow up to 2,500 kg.

Under the hood, the Tank 700 Hi4-T features a 3.0-liter V6 engine delivering 360 horsepower. It is mated to an electric motor and a 9HAT. The total output of the Tank 700 drivetrain reaches 517 horsepower. It has a ternary (NMC) battery pack made by SVOLT, a subsidiary of Great Wall Motor.

The limited edition Tank 700 Hi4-T has quite an expensive price tag, but the regular version will be more affordable. It will enter the domestic market in 2024.
