Cao Vietnam (number 65) and Honda Racing Vietnam achieved their best performance in the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC).
When asked about finishing in first and second place, Cao Vietnam shared: “I am extremely delighted as this is the first time in ARRC that I have been able to race on par with the top competitors. I thoroughly enjoyed the race and am content with my journey and the team’s performance throughout the season. Despite some regrets, it is evident that the team has made significant progress compared to the previous season.”
“Considering this year in comparison to the previous year, I am personally very satisfied. Apart from achieving the target score, what brings me the most joy is the regained confidence in Cao Vietnam, along with the entire technical team. Everyone is united, sharing the same passion to lead Honda Racing Vietnam to greater heights. At this juncture, I can confidently affirm that Nam is capable of competing for a position on the podium,” said Mr. Do Thai Son, Manager of Honda Racing Vietnam Team.
Returning to the main highlights of Stage 6, which was also the final stage of the 2023 ARRC season at the Chang Circuit in Buriram, Thailand. Recognized as their “home ground,” Honda Racing Vietnam had set high goals for the AP250 category with racer Cao Vietnam. This aspiration is easy to comprehend since number 65 has consistently performed admirably at Chang. The results in Practice 2 further demonstrated this, with Cao Vietnam securing the second position.
Despite starting from 9th place, Cao Vietnam created one of the most remarkable surprises of the season.
However, the team’s objective faced a slight hurdle during qualifying, as number 65 only managed to secure the 9th position, posing a challenge to advance to the top. Notwithstanding, the race unraveled numerous surprises for the team, as well as the competing racers and spectators present at the circuit.
In Race 1, shortly after the race kickstarted, Cao Vietnam swiftly climbed to the 4th place and maintained a position ahead of the pursuing opponents. By the final lap, he managed to move up to 3rd… 2nd place. The team was prepared to step onto the podium for the first time. However, just as the highly-anticipated moment approached, Cao Vietnam was overtaken by his competitors and eventually finished in 5th place, which was regrettable.
The disappointment in Race 1 transformed into motivation for Race 2. Cao Vietnam delivered his finest performance since joining the continental championship. After the initial 2 laps, number 65 took the lead, much to the surprise of those present at the circuit. Beyond question, number 65 exhibited his best performance to date in the Asia Road Racing Championship! He successively overtook opponents and led for the majority of Race 2 of Stage 6, an unprecedented feat. However, owing to a slight misjudgment on the part of the team’s 3 racers, Cao Vietnam finished Race 2 in 4th place.
Cao Vietnam concluded the 2023 ARRC season with 87 points.
As a result, Cao Vietnam concluded the 2023 ARRC season with a total of 87 points, securing the 8th position overall in the individual standings of the AP250 category. On the other hand, Honda Racing Vietnam achieved the 7th position with a total of 93 points.
Despite some regrets, both Cao Vietnam and Honda Racing Vietnam experienced their most successful and emotional season, opening clearer opportunities to compete for top positions in the upcoming season.
Nguyen Duc Thanh concluded the 2023 ARRC season with 6 points.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Duc Thanh (number 193), Cao Vietnam’s teammate in his inaugural season competing against formidable rivals in the AP250 category, also left an impression by amassing a total of 6 points.
Nguyen Anh Tuan and Nguyen Huu Tri competing at Stage 6.
In the UB150 category, the duo Nguyen Anh Tuan (number 178) and Nguyen Huu Tri (number 111) could not exhibit their full potential. At the end of the season, Anh Tuan garnered 16 points, while Huu Tri accumulated 2 points. For number 111, a 15-year-old rookie racer, the ARRC 2023 season can be seen as a trial, stumbling on the continental stage. Perhaps, if Huu Tri continues to be given opportunities, he will deliver better performances in the future.
Nguyen Ton Anh Phu (number 19) and Nguyen Vu Phuong (number 10) competing in the Thailand Talent Cup 2023.
During the final stage at the Chang Circuit, racers Nguyen Ton Anh Phu (number 19) and Nguyen Vu Phuong (number 10) concluded their participation in the Thailand Talent Cup 2023 (a talent search tournament for Thai racing) with valuable points and experience for their future endeavors.
In a nutshell, Honda Racing Vietnam wraps up an impressive racing season on the continental stage. We look forward to seeing you again in the 2024 season!

ARRC 2023 Stage 1 – Exhilarating Emotions with the Astonishing Performance of the “Madman”
When Honda CBR250RR, ridden by Vietnamese racer Cao Viet Nam, crossed the finish line in Race 2 of the opening round of the 2023 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC), the entire team erupted with joy. Even the “madman” himself couldn’t contain his emotions at that moment, as it was the first time that rider number 65 and the Honda Racing Vietnam team had secured a top-four finish in the AP250 category after years of competing in this championship.
