Honda officially launched the Honda ADV 160 model for the Indonesian market on July 1st, replacing the previous Honda ADV 150. The new ADV 160 comes with an upgraded engine and several notable changes. Let’s explore the improvements offered by the ADV 160 compared to its predecessor, the ADV 150.
A more powerful all-new engine
One of the key upgrades in the Honda ADV 160 is its engine. The bike is equipped with the eSP+ engine, featuring a single-cylinder, 4-valve setup, with a displacement of 156.9cc and liquid-cooling. It delivers a power output of 15.8 horsepower and a maximum torque of 14.8 Nm. Compared to the ADV 150, which had a power output of 14.7 horsepower and 13.8 Nm of torque, the ADV 160’s new engine provides a significant boost in power.

New frame
The Honda ADV 160’s more powerful and heavier engine necessitates a sturdier frame. Honda has redesigned the bike’s frame to ensure it can withstand the torque of the 4-valve eSP+ engine while maintaining the necessary flexibility for a comfortable riding experience.
All-new body design
The Honda ADV 160 features significant design changes to its bodywork. Various plastic details on the front, side panels, main body, and tail have been altered, and even the positions of the screws and joints have been updated. The bike draws design inspiration from its sibling, the Honda ADV 350, particularly in terms of the side panels.
Instrument cluster
One of the new features in the Honda ADV 160 is the completely redesigned digital instrument cluster. It sports a sleek design and a layout similar to the ADV 350’s instrument cluster. The ADV 160’s instrument cluster provides a wealth of information, including RPM, speed, time, trip, fuel level, fuel consumption, and oil change reminders. The navigation buttons for displaying different information are located below the instrument cluster.

Windshield
The ADV 160 offers superior performance compared to the ADV 150, thanks to its optimized windshield design. The windshield effectively reduces wind resistance while allowing for proper airflow to cool the rider. Notably, the ADV 160’s windshield is adjustable in height, catering to different user preferences.

Lower handlebars
In the new Honda ADV 160, the seat has been lowered from 795mm to 780mm, making it more suitable for riders of shorter stature. Consequently, the handlebars have also been improved to ensure a comfortable riding posture for the rider.

Fuel tank and storage space
Honda has increased the storage capacity of the Honda ADV 160’s compartment by an additional 2 liters, bringing it to a total of 30 liters. This is slightly larger than the ADV 150’s 28-liter compartment. Additionally, the fuel tank cap of the ADV 160 has been redesigned to make refueling easier.
