As part of its year-end sales push, Nio has announced various incentives for customers purchasing Nio vehicles in December. These include 30 free battery swaps and 5,000 yuan ($705) for accessories. The package also offers one year of free registration for the NOP+ (Navigate on Pilot) autonomous driving system. Customers only need to pay a non-refundable deposit before December 31.

In November, Nio expanded its Power Swap Stations (PSS) by adding 138 new stations, bringing the global total to 2,217. Out of these, 2,188 are located in China and 29 in Europe. Nio aims to have 2,300 exchange stations in China by the end of 2023. Initially, the target was 1,800, but Nio revised it to 2,300. In Europe, the initial target was 120 exchange stations by 2023, which was later changed to 80, and the latest target is 30. Additionally, Nio has reached a milestone of providing 33 million battery swaps in China.

Furthermore, Nio opened 16 new showrooms in November, bringing the total to 142 Nio Houses and 320 Nio Spaces in China and Europe. The company also operates 20,383 charging poles in China, making it one of the largest high-voltage system providers in the country.

In its latest demonstration of technological prowess, Nio shared a video showcasing their autonomous driving vehicle performing a battery swap. This feature, called Power Swap on Pilot (PSP), is available in Banyan cockpit systems 2.0.8 and above in China. When activated, Nio’s vehicle will automatically find an exchange station and swap the battery, and it can also queue if the battery station is occupied. However, it’s important to note that not all battery swap stations support this feature, as hardware upgrades are required.
