Honda has been actively involved in motorcycle racing for many years, competing in various world championships organized by the International Motorcycle Federation (FIM) through their race team, Honda Racing Corporation (HRC).

2019 marked the 60th anniversary of Honda’s first participation in the Isle of Man TT race in 1959. In that year, Honda achieved remarkable success by winning championships in prestigious categories of the FIM MotoGP World Championship, FIM Motocross World Championship, and FIM Trial World Championship.

Racer Marc Marquez, competing for Repsol Honda Team, emerged as the champion of the MotoGP 2019 championship.

Moving forward to 2020, Honda’s race teams are determined to defend their championships in MotoGP, Motocross, and Trials. Additionally, HRC will continue their participation in the Dakar Rally, a challenging race that will take place from South America to Saudi Arabia.

Starting from the upcoming 2020 season, Honda will also introduce its HRC race team to the FIM Superbike World Championship. This new venture will feature two riders, Álvaro Bautista from Spain and Leon Haslam from England, who will be riding the new CBR1000RR-R FIREBLADE SP model. Takumi Takahashi, the champion of the MFJ All Japan Road Race Championship 2017, will also be participating in the FIM Superbike World Championship, representing Honda’s satellite team, the MIE Racing Team.

Honda’s commitment to racing extends beyond the aforementioned events. Other Honda race teams, including F.C.C. TSR Honda France, will continue their pursuit of victory in the FIM Endurance World Championship. Meanwhile, Honda HRC (Honda USA factory team) will strive to secure titles in the 450SX class of the AMA Supercross Championship.

Sport racing activities serve as a catalyst for Honda, with the spirit of competition, technological advancements, and the dedication of Honda personnel shining through. The racing culture and the cutting-edge technologies developed in the racing field have become integral parts of numerous Honda products. Honda remains committed to delivering the essence of “The Power of Dreams” to customers through its exceptional range of products, services, and participation in motorsports.
