During the recent spring season, the residents of Phu Quoc and Rach Gia in Kien Giang province were pleasantly surprised to frequently spot a stunning orange McLaren supercar. What made this sighting even more remarkable was the car’s unique license plate number – 68, a rarity in the area.
After conducting research, we discovered that this is one of the McLaren 765LT edition supercars, of which only 765 units were produced worldwide. This particular McLaren is the fourth of its kind to arrive in Vietnam. The owner, known as Phuong, is a resident of Kien Giang who has owned this supercar for two years but recently registered the license plate for the vehicle.
The fact that this limited edition McLaren 765LT sports a license plate from Kien Giang province has piqued the curiosity of many. People are eager to know how much the owner had to invest to acquire the white plate, and the final amount may astonish some.
Based on our research, the starting price for McLaren 765LT supercars in Vietnam is around 33 billion VND. Therefore, it is estimated that the cost for a Kien Giang resident to possess the McLaren 765LT with license plate number 381, out of the total 765 units produced worldwide, would exceed 36 billion VND.
An interesting fact is that the license plate of the McLaren 765LT is rather ordinary compared to the owner’s other vehicles. The owner typically favors license plates with numbers like “nu quy” (quintuplets) and other aesthetically pleasing combinations. It seems that when it came to choosing a license plate for this 36-billion VND supercar, the Kien Giang car enthusiast wasn’t as fortunate as the “premium” Porsche, Mercedes-Maybach, or Lexus owners with their lavish license plates featuring combinations of numbers, including double digits, triple digits, and quadruplets.
The first McLaren 765LT in the Western region stands out with its McLaren Orange exterior color and numerous carbon accents. This limited edition supercar boasts several distinctive features compared to the standard version, such as a modified front bumper, an air vent above the wheel arch, unique wheels engraved with the 765LT logo, an extended wing, and, most notably, a quad exhaust system.
The McLaren 765LT is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, capable of delivering a whopping 755 horsepower and a peak torque of 800 Nm. With its limited edition status, this McLaren 720S variant accelerates from 0 to 97 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 330 km/h.
It is worth mentioning that the owner of the Kien Giang-licensed McLaren 765LT has equipped the vehicle with a Novitec exhaust system featuring a distinctive gold-plated finish, reminiscent of the opulent style often found in the Middle East. The value of this exhaust system alone exceeds hundreds of millions of VND.
