AvtoVAZ, a Russian company, has recently released an updated version of the Lada Niva lineup. The lineup consists of two versions: Legend and Travel. The Lada Niva Legend features a classic design reminiscent of cars from decades ago, while the Travel version offers a more modern and premium design.
One of the highlights of the 2024 Lada Niva Legend is the ABS anti-lock braking system. The ABS system was removed from this car model in mid-2022 due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. After more than a year, this essential safety feature has finally made a comeback in the Russian car model.

The ABS system in this car line is produced by the Pegasus factory in Kostroma, Russia. However, the system’s origin can be traced back to China.
In addition to the ABS system, the 2024 Lada Niva Legend is also equipped with an engine that meets Euro 5 emission standards. This is an upgrade from the previous Euro 2 emission standards that the Lada Niva Legend had since 1996.

However, compared to newer models, the engine of the 2024 Lada Niva Legend is still considered outdated. The Euro 5 emission standard has been in effect since 2009, and the Euro 6 emission standard has been in effect since 2014. It is expected that the Euro 7 emission standard will be implemented by 2025.
Due to these upgrades, the selling price of the 2024 Lada Niva Legend has increased from 829,900 Rubles (approximately 218 million VND) to 927,500 Rubles (approximately 244 million VND).
The Lada Niva Travel 2024 version has also received some improvements. The ABS anti-lock braking system has been reintroduced, and the car now features a cruise control system with a speed limit function, an integrated backlight meter, and a set of two-tone alloy wheels.

Lada Niva is a legendary off-road car model that made its debut in 1977. Despite being on the market for 47 years, the Lada Niva shows no signs of “retirement.” In addition to Russia, the Lada Niva is also available in some European markets.
In the past, Lada Niva enjoyed significant success in the Western European market, accounting for up to 40% of the market share in the 4-wheel drive segment.
