Under the new regulation, Lamborghini employees in Sant’Agata will work 22-31 days less per year than before. Along with that, the company also decided to supplement fixed bonus policies and new performance bonuses.
Recently, Lamborghini has signed a new agreement with unions in Italy to increase wages and reduce working hours for its workers. Accordingly, for workers at the Sant Agata factory working two shifts, they will take turns working 4 and 5 days per week. Thus, the total working time under the new schedule will be 22 days less per year than before.
Those working 3 shifts are even better off, with an additional 31 days off thanks to the new schedule, including night shifts, alternating one week working 5 days and two weeks working 4 days.
Although the working hours are reduced, the employees of this car company receive more benefits. Lamborghini said that each worker will receive an additional 1,000 euros (over 26 million VND) in December each year, in addition to the current bonus policy. Moreover, the bonus policy based on business results and labor productivity will be adjusted to increase one and a half times the previous rate.
The new benefits policies for workers are based on the agreement between Lamborghini and the FIOM and FIM-CISL labor organizations in Italy. “Working less and working more efficiently, this is the main principle of this negotiation and is part of a comprehensive mindset,” said representatives of the FIOM and FIM-CISL union.
Recently, companies in Europe have been trying to increase productivity and reduce working hours.
According to The Telegraph, in February 2023, 56 out of 61 companies participating in the 4-day workweek trial in the UK initiated by the British labor union. Afterward, 18 companies decided to commit to maintaining the 4-day workweek policy indefinitely. Participating employees said that the level of stress at work decreased, and their work productivity was hardly affected even though they worked fewer hours.
