Lynk & Co, the sub-brand of Chinese car manufacturer Geely, has recently confirmed its entry into the Vietnamese market. After months of speculation, the brand has officially announced that it will launch its cars in Vietnam on December 16, 2023. This news comes as no surprise, as information about Lynk & Co’s arrival in Vietnam has been circulating since August this year.
Lynk & Co will join other Chinese car brands, such as Hongqi, MG, Wuling, and Haval, in the Vietnamese market. In the near future, we can expect additional Chinese car brands like OMODA and JAECOO from Chery or Haima to enter the Vietnamese market as well.
Lynk & Co cars will be fully imported into Vietnam, with GreenLynk Automotives appointed as the official importer and distributor. According to sources, Lynk & Co will introduce four car models in Vietnam: 01, 03, 05, and 09. The Lynk & Co 01 will be positioned in the C-segment SUV category, while the Lynk & Co 03 will be a C-segment sedan. The Lynk & Co 05, on the other hand, falls into the C-segment coupe-like SUV category. The most anticipated model is the Lynk & Co 09, a mid-size SUV.
The Lynk & Co 09 is one of the car models that will be available for sale in Vietnam.
One noteworthy aspect of the Lynk & Co car models is that they share the same chassis as Volvo cars. This synergy is expected, as both Lynk & Co and Volvo are subsidiaries of Geely. Furthermore, Lynk & Co offers a wide range of engine choices to cater to different preferences.
However, Lynk & Co positions itself as a relatively premium brand within the Geely family, so the prices of these car models may not be as competitive as those of other Chinese brands. Vietnamese customers should not expect highly attractive prices for these vehicles.
Authorized dealerships are already accepting deposits for Lynk & Co car models in Vietnam. In addition, Lynk & Co has introduced a special promotion for early customers who place a deposit for the 01, 05, and 09 models.
Customers who make a deposit of 10 million VND will receive free maintenance for 5 years and a complimentary registration package (excluding registration fees). Customers who deposit 50 million VND will enjoy free maintenance for 5 years, a complimentary registration package (excluding registration fees), and 2 years of comprehensive insurance coverage. This promotion is valid for deposits made from December 4, 2023, to January 5, 2024. Moreover, the first 18 customers who purchase and receive their Lynk & Co cars in January 2024 will have the opportunity to visit the factory. Compared to cash discounts or pre-tax fee assistance programs offered by other car brands in Vietnam, Lynk & Co’s promotions may not appear as enticing.
