The Mitsubishi Xpander model continues to dominate the small MPV segment, with sales in October surpassing 1,200 units. This is higher than the combined sales of all three Toyota models (915 units).

Despite a 33% decrease in sales compared to September, the Mitsubishi Xpander still holds the top position in the segment with 1,277 units sold in the market. Since the beginning of the year, the Mitsubishi Xpander has sold a total of 15,464 units.

The decline in sales can be attributed to the fact that last month, the Xpander no longer received preferential treatment from the manufacturer. Only the domestically-assembled manual transmission (MT) version received a 50% reduction in registration fees.

In October, the Hyundai Stargazer recorded sales of 495 units, a nearly 24% increase compared to the previous month. Since the beginning of the year, Hyundai has sold a total of 3,095 Stargazer units, helping this Korean model secure the second place in the top-selling MPV rankings for the month.

The Honda BR-V model takes the third spot in the best-selling car rankings for the segment. In October, this model only sold 468 units, experiencing a 41% decrease in sales.

Although experiencing an increase in sales, the Kia Carens ranks fourth in the segment with 396 units delivered to customers. Over the past 10 months, this model has recorded sales of 2,988 units.

Following closely behind the Kia Carens is the Toyota Veloz, with 390 units sold in the market in October. Since the beginning of the year, this model has achieved sales of 6,532 units, ranking second in the segment, just behind the Xpander.

In the past month, the MPV segment also saw the introduction of some new players such as the Hyundai Custin and Toyota Innova Cross.

In its first month of sales, the Hyundai Custin delivered 324 units to customers, securing the sixth spot in the top-selling car rankings for the segment. The Toyota Innova recorded sales of 272 units, ranking seventh in the top-selling car rankings for the segment.

Other models such as the Toyota Avanza, Suzuki XL7, and Suzuki Ertiga occupy the eighth, ninth, and tenth positions, respectively, with sales figures of 253, 143, and 108 units.

Currently, small MPV models are being heavily discounted to boost end-of-year shopping demand. The Hyundai Stargazer model, in particular, is currently being offered with the highest discount of over 100 million VND. The Suzuki Ertiga 2022 production versions also come with discounts of around 100 million VND.
