The Mercedes-AMG G 63 is armored by Klassen to level B6 or B7 (level B6 allows resistance against stronger AK-47 rifle attacks, B7 resists armor-piercing rounds).

Klassen, a German tuning workshop specializing in the design and manufacture of various armored vehicles, caters to politicians, celebrities, and individuals with special security needs. Since 2000, Klassen has been supplying armored vehicles to banks, law enforcement agencies, businesses, and customers worldwide. Recently, the company has introduced an armored modification for the renowned luxury SUV, Mercedes-AMG G 63.

As per Klassen’s announcement, the vehicle is armored to level B6 or B7 (level B6 provides resistance against stronger AK-47 rifle attacks, while level B7 can withstand armor-piercing rounds). The tires are reinforced with heavy load-bearing rings as well.

To enhance cabin spaciousness, Klassen has extended the wheelbase of the modified Mercedes-AMG G 63 by 1,016 mm (for a total of 3,906 mm) compared to the standard version. The overall length of the car is 5,897 mm.

In addition, the suspension system and the entire chassis of the car have been reinforced to maintain driving performance, considering the significant increase in weight after the armor upgrade.

Klassen also offers optional equipment for customers, including strobe lights, infrared cameras, and an emergency call system EK0+. Customers can request the installation of additional features such as warning sirens, loudspeakers, heavy-duty wheels, quick escape equipment, engine compartment fire suppression systems, etc.

The car retains its twin-turbocharged V8 4.0L engine, producing 577 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. With the standard versions, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 220 km/h. However, due to the additional weight of reinforced steel in the armored version by Klassen, these performance figures may slightly decrease.
