Recently, international media have reported that the new generation MG 3 is expected to make its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show, scheduled to open on February 26, 2024. Furthermore, the right-hand drive version of the Feifan Marvel R has been unveiled and will subsequently be available for purchase in the UK market.
The upcoming MG 3 is anticipated to be equipped with a hybrid engine, thereby reducing operational expenses. As per previous reports, this model is set to be launched in Europe and China next year, with both manual and automatic transmission options available.
Based on patent images and other sources of information, it is evident that the new MG 3 will feature the latest design style from SAIC MG, including a sleek headlight design with a large grille, as well as boomerang-shaped grilles on both sides, which make for a visually striking front fascia.
Regarding the bodywork, a notable difference compared to the current model is the adoption of a segmented waist design, which replaces the straight waistline and imparts a more dynamic overall appearance to the vehicle. At the rear, a trend of raising the waistline akin to the high-profile shape of the side moldings creates an upward curve, lending a sense of flair to the tail end of the car.
At the back of the vehicle, a fresh taillight design incorporating black taillights resembling butterfly wings has been applied, aligning with the aesthetic preferences of contemporary consumers. Additionally, a small wind deflector design above the car’s tail enhances its streamlined roofline.
With regards to powertrain, the new model is expected to retain an internal combustion engine while also incorporating a hybrid system. However, specific powertrain combinations and specifications have not been officially disclosed at this time.
