For car enthusiasts, especially Mercedes-Benz lovers, the name Mr. Xuan Hoan is well-known. He was born in 1980 and currently works in Saigon. Terms such as “sales assassin,” “Mercedes boss,” and “famous sales guru” are often used to describe him.

Mr. Xuan Hoan began his career as a salesperson in 2004, but later transitioned to the field of communication. It wasn’t until 2014 that he fully dedicated himself to working for the prestigious German luxury car brand, Mercedes-Benz.

During his time there, he has built a strong personal brand in the Mercedes-Benz sales department and the luxury car industry as a whole.

In addition to his primary role as a dedicated Mercedes salesperson, Xuan Hoan also owns his own car garage specializing in upgrading interiors and retrofitting accessories for luxury cars.

On March 24th, Mr. Xuan Hoan posted a mysterious status on Facebook alongside a photo featuring designer Thai Cong. He wrote:

“Hoan met Mr. Thai Cong to ‘renovate the house.’

Or did Mr. Thai Cong meet Hoan to ‘retrofit the car’?

There will soon be many surprises.”

This status caught the attention of the online community. Previously, the news of designer Thai Cong acquiring a vintage car had created quite a buzz. Many people have high expectations for this collaboration between the two industry “tycoons,” believing that it will result in a masterpiece.

The following day, Mr. Xuan Hoan shared a video of his meeting with designer Thai Cong. In the video, he revealed that he would be the one to “transform” the vintage MGA 1600 car. According to Mr. Xuan Hoan, there are only two people in Vietnam who own this particular model, with Thai Cong being one of them.

During the meeting, Mr. Xuan Hoan openly confessed that he “couldn’t sleep all night” upon discovering that the MGA 1600 had fallen into the hands of the Vietnamese-German interior designer. This was due to the fact that, as someone deeply involved in the industry, he “couldn’t own a car like that.” He also mentioned his plan to acquire a vintage car for himself in the near future.

However, the main topic discussed in the posted video was their shared experience with the vintage MGA 1600 and the upcoming modifications. Designer Thai Cong had initially envisioned transforming the vintage car into a racing car. Furthermore, he intended to repaint the car and change the interior leather to match his personal style.

Designer Thai Cong also plans to change the steering wheel, add power assist, and upgrade the sound system. Mr. Xuan Hoan, on the other hand, is responsible for the design and transformation of the car. This is a project that he has invested a considerable amount of effort and dedication into.

In an interview, Mr. Xuan Hoan once stated, “I have always been passionate about car upgrades. Many years ago, I developed a keen interest in and built close relationships with Vietnam’s top car tuning experts. I customized and personalized every first car I owned to suit my personal preferences. Therefore, my understanding of customers who desire to upgrade their cars stems from my own experiences.”

Car tuning encompasses various approaches, and it isn’t always necessary to completely dismantle a car to consider it as tuning. In Vietnam, customers often express concerns about their beloved car losing its originality if dismantled. Consequently, myself and my team at the garage have developed numerous methods to enhance and upgrade cars while still adhering to each customer’s requirements.

My guiding principle is to ‘transform’ a car in our garage while preserving its original essence. The ‘transformation’ of each car is carried out with individual creativity, taking into account the customer’s preferences and budget.”

As evident from the above, Mr. Xuan Hoan is a true car enthusiast who puts an immense amount of dedication into upgrading vehicles. The collaboration between him and designer Thai Cong continues to garner attention, with hopes from the public that their joint efforts will result in a vintage MGA 1600 “masterpiece” that embodies the spirit of the era while remaining modern and stylish.
