Rumors of the arrival of the third Porsche 911 Dakar in Vietnam have been circulating on social media recently.
According to speculation, the car is owned by a tycoon named Hieu. This Porsche 911 Dakar has a white exterior, but unlike the previous two models that arrived in the country, it does not have a serial number or Porsche badge. The car still features the 19-inch Zoll Dakar wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the rear, along with red brake calipers and off-road tires.
It is known that Vietnam has a total of 3 units of this special edition, with the first one being painted in GT Silver Metallic and having the serial number 1904/2500. This car was delivered to its owner at the end of August. The second 911 Dakar, owned by “coffee king” Dang Le Nguyen Vu, also arrived in Vietnam in October. And now, the third car has officially made its appearance in Vietnam.
The Porsche 911 Dakar is considered a special edition of the 911 series with off-road capabilities, and it commemorates Porsche’s first overall victory at the Paris-Dakar Rally in 1984. According to the company, only 2,500 cars were produced worldwide.
The car is based on the platform of the standard 911 Carrera but has been upgraded to have the ability to traverse various terrains. Porsche has refined the suspension system, increasing the ground clearance by 80 mm compared to regular 911 versions, reaching 200 mm.
When the Off-road High Level mode is activated, the ground clearance will increase by an additional 30 mm. This provides the car with a ground clearance and off-road performance that is comparable to mainstream SUVs, allowing the car to navigate speed bumps and speed humps without any concerns. This mode automatically deactivates when the car exceeds 170 km/h.
Powering the Porsche 911 Dakar is a 3.0L 6-cylinder boxer engine with 473 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed PDK automatic transmission and AWD drive system. With this power, the car can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 km/h. Additionally, the car also features Rallye and Off-road driving modes, along with the Rallye Launch Control feature that optimizes traction by 20%.
In Vietnam, the Porsche 911 Dakar is officially imported and has a price of nearly 15.3 billion VND (excluding additional options).
