In 2024, Kia will introduce the Kia EV3 small SUV as the next addition to its electric vehicle lineup, following the EV5, EV6, and EV9 models.

Although the exact dimensions of the Kia EV3 are not yet known, it is speculated to have a wheelbase length of approximately 4.4 meters, similar to the gasoline-powered Seltos model. Once released, the EV3 will face competition from vehicles such as the VinFast VF 6, Volvo EX30, and Peugeot e-2008.

In terms of design, the Kia EV3 will feature a modern and distinctive appearance with more angular and sculpted shapes compared to its siblings, the EV5 and EV9. However, certain adjustments will be made to enhance practicality, as seen in the concept version unveiled in October 2023.

Inside the cabin, the interior design of the EV3 maintains a sleek and minimalist aesthetic. The use of environmentally-friendly materials is evident, with seats made from natural fibers that possess a strong structure. Additionally, the central control cluster is crafted from specially-treated tree roots.

The driver’s compartment will be equipped with improved convenience features tailored to better suit the users’ needs, rather than directly transferring them from the concept version.

Similar to its counterparts, the EV5 and EV9, the EV3 will offer continuous software updates through internet connectivity. Moreover, higher trim levels may feature an autonomous driving system called AutoMode.

The Kia EV3 adopts the same E-GMP platform used in the EV6 and EV9 models, albeit with a more cost-effective 400V hardware platform. The battery capacity of the EV3 ranges from 58 to 77.4 kWh.

The vehicle will be available in two motor options: a default single motor and a premium dual motor. However, detailed specifications pertaining to performance have yet to be disclosed.

The EV3 will play an integral role in Kia’s strategy to expand its electric vehicle product lineup significantly. The company aims to achieve one million electric vehicle sales worldwide by 2026 and have electric vehicles account for nearly 40% of global sales by 2030.

The official debut of the EV3 is scheduled for mid-2024, with an estimated starting price of $30,000 (equivalent to 727.7 million VND).
