Porsche Exclusive is known for its expertise in creating personalized vehicles for customers. Since the mid-1980s, the company has been taking orders from wealthy individuals who desire unique and customized vehicles.
One notable project undertaken by Porsche Exclusive was the development of a one-of-a-kind vehicle called the 935 Street. This bespoke creation was ordered by Mansour Ojjeh, an Arab businessman and CEO of Techniques d’Avant Garde (TAG), which is the parent company of TAG Heuer watches and a 21% stakeholder in the McLaren Group, encompassing the F1 racing team and the renowned British supercar brand.
Prior to commissioning the 935 Street, Mansour Ojjeh was captivated by the success of the Porsche 935 racing model but desired a luxurious “street version” of the car. To fulfill his dream, Ojjeh turned to Porsche Exclusive.
The engineers at Porsche Exclusive utilized a brand new body shell from the 930 line and incorporated racing-inspired components to bring the vision to life. This included a turbocharged 3.3-liter engine capable of producing 375 horsepower, borrowed from the Porsche 934 model. Additionally, the 935 Street featured suspension, brakes, and body panels inspired by the Porsche 935 race car.
Finally, the unique Porsche 935 Street was painted in a special shade of red, and the interior was adorned with cream-colored leather and wooden accents, making it the first Porsche model to feature wood trim.
The 1983 Porsche 935 Street stands as the pinnacle of Porsche Exclusive’s craftsmanship. A total of 550 new parts were utilized in its creation, generating a 17-page invoice. Two notable additions were the rear BBS alloy wheels sized at 345/35 VR15 and the inclusion of a Clarion sound system.
While the exact cost of constructing the Porsche 935 Street remains undisclosed, rumors suggest that its price tag was three times higher than that of a standard 911 Turbo.
Although the 1983 Porsche 935 Street has only been driven 12,004 miles (equivalent to 19,312 km) since being acquired by Mansour Ojjeh, he has decided to sell the vehicle rather than continue using it. Ojjeh describes the 1983 Porsche 935 Street as “unrestored but intact” while listing it for sale.
The unique Porsche 935 Street will soon be available to a new owner at the Bonhams Spa Classic Sale auction on May 18th. Mansour Ojjeh has set the estimated selling price for the 1983 Porsche 935 Street between 300,000 and 400,000 Euros ($411,750 – $548,640).
