Recently, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu, a prominent coffee tycoon in Vietnam, amazed everyone by adding a pre-owned Maserati GranTurismo to his collection. This comes as a surprise considering his previous acquisitions, which include luxurious cars such as the Audi R8 V10 Plus, Ferrari California T, and Ferrari F12.
The Maserati GranTurismo he purchased is from the first generation (2007-2019), estimated to be a model produced between 2015-2016. While the exact price was not disclosed, it is estimated that Mr. Vu spent approximately 5 billion VND to acquire this sports car from the prestigious Italian brand, which had an original price tag of around 12 billion VND when it was brand new.
This particular Maserati GranTurismo is one of the few Maseratis in Mr. Vu’s collection. Another notable addition is the Levante Trofeo 2022, a rare gem with only 100 units manufactured worldwide. This unexpected purchase has raised questions among enthusiasts, as Mr. Vu has always been known as an avid Ferrari enthusiast.
Underneath its sleek Italian design, the Maserati GranTurismo is equipped with a powerful 4.7-liter V8 engine, delivering an impressive 454 horsepower and a torque of 520 Nm. Its performance is further enhanced by a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission. With this impressive combination, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 301 km/h.
The exterior of this GranTurismo is coated in the signature white color associated with the Trung Nguyen Group, adorned with the letters “UN” on both sides of the doors. It rides on eye-catching 20-inch multi-spoke wheels finished in silver, complemented by blue brake calipers.
The Maserati GranTurismo features the MC Stradale exterior upgrade package, which gives it a sportier appearance and reduces its inherent “mildness.” This package includes a more angular front bumper, new side skirts with air vents, and a larger rear diffuser and spoiler.
Although the exact mileage is unknown, the interior of the GranTurismo indicates that it has been lightly used and well-maintained. The leather seats exhibit no signs of wrinkles, while the steering wheel shows minimal wear. Carbon fiber details can be found on the steering wheel, dashboard, and door panels. The seating configuration is 2+2, but the rear seats offer limited space.
In Vietnam, the Maserati GranTurismo is considered a rare gem, with only a handful of units in the country. For instance, the most recent 2022 model was priced at nearly 14 billion VND by the official distributor, which makes it comparable to some supercars like the Mercedes-AMG GT R and McLaren Artura.
