People often buy new cars because they expect a trouble-free ownership experience. However, a recent survey by Consumer Reports suggests that some new car models may require more visits to the repair shop than anticipated. These are the least reliable models according to the survey.
To identify the 10 most unreliable car models for 2024 in the US market, Consumer Reports analyzed data from over 330,000 vehicles. The survey examined 20 common problems that users encountered, including brake issues, interior trims, engine problems, transmission issues, electric vehicle battery malfunctions, and charging problems. Each problem was assigned a severity rating, and a predicted reliability score was calculated on a 100-point scale for each car model.
