Toyota recently responded to criticism of its slow entry into the electric vehicle market by unveiling a range of electric SUVs in Belgium. The global automotive giant is committed to achieving carbon neutrality and offers a wide range of electric and hybrid vehicles, including hybrids, plug-in hybrids, fuel cell vehicles, e-fuel vehicles, and hydrogen-powered vehicles, based on market demand and consumer preferences. In Europe, Toyota will introduce six electric SUV models, starting with the bZ4X.

The commercial versions of the Urban SUV Concept and Sport Crossover Concept will be available in 2024 and 2025, following the bZ Compact SUV. Customers will have two battery options and the choice of all-wheel drive.
Toyota is also focused on advancing battery technology. By 2026, the company plans to introduce new batteries that offer double the range of current models and reduce production costs by 20% compared to the current bZ4X. These new batteries will be capable of charging from 10% to 80% in just 10 minutes.
