Notably, two license plates have been sold for over 10 billion VND each, and the highest bidders have fulfilled their financial obligations.
The first license plate, 51K-888.88, was sold for an astonishing 15.265 billion VND. The second license plate, 30K-555.55, was acquired for an equally impressive price of 14.495 billion VND. These sought-after plates are owned by affluent individuals in Hanoi and are registered for two distinct, luxurious, and prestigious vehicles.
One of these Hanoi tycoons has registered the license plate 51K-888.88 for a second-hand Toyota Crown, popularly known as the “minister’s car.” This vehicle’s market value ranges between 500 million and 1.5 billion VND, depending on its condition and history of serving high-ranking officials.
While some may not consider a second-hand Toyota Crown worthy of the distinguished license plate 30K-888.88, the winning bidder believed it to be an emblem of prestige. Consequently, they decided to allocate their significant investment of nearly 15.3 billion VND towards this license plate, despite having the option to register it for multiple high-end vehicles. The Toyota Crown holds the highest significance and allure in their eyes.
Now, let’s shift our attention to the luxury license plate 30K-555.55, which tells a completely different tale. The successful bidder has registered this distinctive tag for a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, an exceptionally lavish SUV that exudes power and status among businessmen and car aficionados.
The combination of the license plate 30K-555.55 with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is universally regarded as a fitting and prestigious pairing, mutually enhancing the opulence of both the car and the plate.
