After undergoing modifications by the renowned armor company Inkas, each fully armored Lexus LX 600 is capable of withstanding two grenade attacks or the firepower of an assault rifle.
As usual, shortly after the release of each luxury car on the market, Inkas quickly unveils an upgraded version targeting affluent customers or individuals who frequently face the risk of attacks. Keeping up with this tradition, the latest 2022 model of the Lexus LX600 is no exception.
After being skillfully handled by the Canadian armoring company, every prestigious flagship SUV from Lexus receives an armor-plating around its cabin. Additionally, the vehicle features bullet-resistant glass, reinforced door edges, and extra bulkheads in the trunk door to ensure maximum protection.
Inkas has also reinforced the suspension system and the entire chassis of the car to accommodate the extra weight caused by the upgrade to incorporate bulletproof layers.
Each vulnerable component of the car, including the fuel tank and the engine compartment, has been meticulously calculated and equipped with protective devices by Inkas. The car is additionally equipped with run-flat tires, enabling it to travel for several kilometers even when under fire.
After the upgrade, each car meets CEN 1063 BR6 security standards. This means that the Inkas LX 600 can withstand the explosive force of two hand grenades DM51 or the equivalent attack power of automatic assault rifles using 7.62mm ammunition.
Moreover, Inkas offers various optional equipment for customers to choose from, including flashing lights, infrared cameras, and an automatic fire-suppression system in the engine compartment. Customers also have the option to request additional installation of alarm systems, loudspeakers, heavy-duty reinforced wheels, support door systems, quick escape equipment, as well as a 10-piston brake system.
Although significantly upgraded to withstand attacks, the Canadian engineers have cleverly preserved the original beauty of the car, similar to the standard version released by Lexus, in order to minimize attention from the outside. Meanwhile, the interior of the bulletproof version of Lexus LX 600 still exudes a luxurious atmosphere, featuring a spacious three-row seating space for seven individuals, a panoramic sunroof, premium leather upholstery and surface trims, F-Sport sports steering wheel, and modern entertainment features.
To “balance” the heavy-duty LX600, Inkas has equipped it with a familiar twin-turbocharged V6 engine. This powertrain produces 409 horsepower (equivalent to 301 kW or 415 PS) and a maximum torque of up to 479 lb-ft (or equivalent to 649 Nm).
The car comes with a ten-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive. This configuration allows each Lexus LX600 to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.9 seconds, while the armored version from Inkas achieves this in slightly more time.
