The Honda Cub e: electric motorcycle is a stylishly designed, compact, and lightweight option that is particularly suited for young customers and women.

According to the November Industrial Property Gazette published by the Intellectual Property Office, Honda has registered a design patent for the Honda Cub e: electric motorcycle in Vietnam. This suggests that the model may be available for sale in Vietnam starting in 2024.

The Honda Cub e: is the electric version of the iconic Super Cub series. Honda has refined the design of the Cub e: to be sleeker and simpler compared to the gasoline-powered model. With dimensions of 1,839 x 339 x 1,066 mm and a weight of 53.6 kg, the Cub e: is relatively lightweight and ideal for young customers and women.

It is important to note that the Honda Cub e: is designed only for the driver’s seat and cannot accommodate a rear passenger seat.

In terms of features, the electric version of the Honda Super Cub is equipped with LED lights, including headlights and daytime running lights. The turn signals are positioned near the handlebars on both sides. The digital meter provides essential information such as battery capacity, ODO, and speed.

Moreover, the Honda Cub e: features smartphone connectivity, allowing users to monitor information such as battery capacity, distance, and GPS coordinates. The motorcycle is equipped with 17-inch cast wheels, a front disc brake, and a rear drum brake.

The Honda Cub e: is powered by a Ternary lithium battery pack weighing 6.4 kg, which is located under the footboard. The battery provides a travel range of approximately 65 km on a full charge, with a maximum speed of 25 km/h. The motorcycle does not have a storage compartment, but it does have a front hook for hanging items. Additionally, the rider can use pedals in case the battery runs out.

Currently, there is no information available regarding the selling price of the Honda Cub e: in Vietnam. In China, this motorcycle is offered in four colors: yellow, white, gray, and red, with prices ranging from 5,999 CNY (approximately 20.5 million VND).

Aside from the electric version of the Honda Cub, Honda has also registered industrial property in Vietnam for two other electric motorcycles, namely the Honda Dax e: and Honda ZOOMER e:.

The Honda Dax e: features a 400W motor and a large-capacity battery pack of 40V/24Ah, providing a travel range of up to 80 km and a maximum speed of 25 km/h. In China, the starting price of this model is equivalent to that of the Cub e:.

On the other hand, the Honda ZOOMER e: is equipped with a 350W electric motor and a 40V/24Ah battery pack. This motorcycle offers a travel range of approximately 90 km and has a maximum speed of 25 km/h. The reference price for this model in China is 6,099 CNY, which is approximately 20.8 million VND.

By registering patents for these three new electric motorcycle models, Honda Vietnam is demonstrating its ambition to compete in the electric two-wheeler segment, which is currently dominated by VinFast and Chinese brands such as Dibao and Yadae.
