In November, Chinese media reported that Xiaomi has officially registered the trademark for its first car, the SU7, on the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s website, causing a wave of excitement.
According to the Tianyancha application, Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd has submitted an application for the “Xiaomi SU7” trademark, which is currently under examination. Xiaomi Auto has also unveiled its first electric car, the SU7.
Xiaomi’s website also hinted at the upcoming launch of the SU7, mentioning that their autonomous driving technology will be introduced, aiming to be at the forefront of the industry by 2024.
The design of the Xiaomi SU7 was previously revealed, created by Li Tianyuan, the designer behind BMW iX. The car boasts a simple and sporty appearance, incorporating common design elements. It has dimensions of 4997/1963/1440mm (length, width, and height) and a wheelbase of 3000mm. The SU7 is positioned as a sports coupe model.
Recently, Xiaomi Motors filed a patent application for an integrated body structure and integrated battery. The patent summary describes a body structure with two crossbars and integrated battery installation components along both sides of the car. This design improves the rigidity and impact resistance of the battery box, acting as a floor panel and enhancing the battery’s performance.
The integrated design reduces the weight of the car body, making it lighter and increasing its driving range. The SU7 is expected to come in three versions: standard, Pro, and Max, with differences in configurations such as lidar technology.
In terms of power, the Xiaomi SU7 is equipped with CATL lithium ternary batteries, providing front and rear motor power of 220 kW/275 kW. Alternatively, there will be a lithium iron phosphate version by Verdi featuring a single motor with a power output of 220 kW.
