On December 22nd, Vietnam Auction Joint Stock Company held an auction for a series of car license plates.

One license plate that stood out was the highly exclusive 11A-111.11 from Cao Bang province, which was sold for a record-breaking bid of 8.78 billion VND.

Comparatively, another license plate, 29K-111.11 from Hanoi, was sold for only 255 million VND on December 21st.

The reason for the high price of the Cao Bang license plate is its unique number combination and the prestigious 11 prefix associated with Cao Bang province.

During the December 22nd auction, several other license plates were also sold at high prices, including 30L-000.01 (2.805 billion VND), 30K-955.55 (1.17 billion VND), and 30K-868.88 (1.14 billion VND).

Starting from December 16th, the second round of auctions implemented a shorter bidding time of 30 minutes per license plate, instead of the previous 60 minutes.

Participants can register for an auction account using their phone numbers, and businesses can use either their ID card number or tax code. If only one person meets the auction requirements, they will be granted the license plate.
