The recent announcement from VietinBank and VietinBank AMC about the confiscation of a McLaren 765LT supercar owned by C.T.L.P., born in 1991, has created a buzz on social media. This car is a limited edition with only 765 Coupe versions produced worldwide, making it extremely rare.
In order to recover the debt, the bank has taken additional measures. VietinBank Asset Management Corporation (VietinBank AMC) has chosen Thien Binh, a joint auction company, to organize the auction for the sale of the McLaren 765LT supercar with the license plate 51K-011.86.
The auction time and other details have not been disclosed, but the bank has set the initial price for the car at over 27.5 billion VND. When imported to Vietnam in 2021, this limited edition supercar was valued at over 35 billion VND, excluding registration costs. Therefore, the total cost of the car amounted to nearly 40 billion VND.
The McLaren 765LT supercar was seized by VietinBank to ensure debt recovery from the customer C.T.L.P. (born in 1991, residing in Thu Duc district, Ho Chi Minh City). This car used to be part of a collection owned by a wealthy individual and was later sold to K-Super showroom, owned by Phan Cong Khanh, before going through multiple owners.
The McLaren 765LT is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine that generates a maximum power output of 755 horsepower and a peak torque of 800 Nm. Compared to the McLaren 720S, the 765LT offers 45 horsepower and 30 Nm more power.
The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that has been optimized for 15% quicker shifting than the McLaren 720S. As a result, the McLaren 765LT can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, from 0 to 200 km/h in 7 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 330 km/h.
