Throughout its presence in the Vietnamese market for more than a decade, Honda Air Blade has solidified its position as a mid-range scooter that accompanies the growth of every Vietnamese family.
There is nothing quite like hearing from the actual users, the ones who use the vehicle daily, sharing their opinions and reviews on their own scooter. That’s why this article will delve into the thoughts of two users: Nguyen Hoang Anh and Bui Duc Viet, who rely on Honda Air Blade for their daily commutes.
Firstly, when asked about the reasons for choosing Honda Air Blade as their primary means of transportation, Hoang Anh mentioned that his family had a first-generation Air Blade (manufactured in 2007). Hoang Anh rode to school on his father’s Honda scooter for 12 years.
Even after 15 years of use, Hoang Anh’s father’s scooter still runs perfectly. The durability, reliability, and long-term companionship are the compelling reasons why Hoang Anh decided to purchase a new Air Blade for himself.
As for me, Duc Viet believes that the Honda Air Blade boasts a remarkably eye-catching design. As a young individual with a unique persona, Viet appreciates the strong and masculine details of the scooter, such as the front lights and square corners, which perfectly align with his bold style.
In addition, the new-generation Honda Air Blade comes equipped with a powerful ESP+ 160cc engine, as well as a multifunctional digital display – a feature that truly satisfies the passion for speed and modern technology among young riders.
Furthermore, when discussing the design of the Honda Air Blade, Hoang Anh emphasized that the current new-generation models exude youthfulness and modernity – a perfect fit for young individuals. On the other hand, the older generation Air Blade models showcase a relatively softer and more neutral design (although their advantage lies in their timeless appeal – after 15 years, they still look stunning).
Moving on to assessing the value that Honda Air Blade brings to its users, Hoang Anh happily highlighted the following: Just like other Honda motorcycles, the Air Blade provides owners with a sense of tranquility, thanks to its sturdy performance, low breakdown rate, and fuel efficiency.
In addition, Honda Air Blade proves to be highly practical with the fuel tank positioned lower under the footrest, creating a spacious storage compartment with convenient lighting. With the Air Blade, Hoang Anh can effortlessly carry various personal belongings to support his work and daily life.
Concurring with those viewpoints, Duc Viet added that the 160cc version of the Honda Air Blade offers users a remarkably powerful performance. When the traffic light turns green, giving the throttle a twist results in the scooter instantly accelerating with a lively and “sharp” responsiveness. Moreover, the scooter is also equipped with ABS brakes, ensuring safety and peace of mind during rides on slippery roads or in rainy conditions.
Another impressive aspect of the Honda Air Blade is the variety of color options available, alongside the enhanced paint layer that makes it more resistant to scratches and more durable.
Furthermore, the scooter features a USB charging port in its compartment, providing a convenient solution for situations when users forget to charge their phones. However, it is crucial to note that users should avoid charging their phones while on the move or when parking under direct sunlight, as the temperature within the compartment can become high, potentially damaging electronic devices and posing the risk of fire or explosion.
One slight drawback mentioned by Hoang Anh is the absence of hooks for hanging items on the Honda Air Blade. Despite the spacious storage compartment, users often require a front hook in various daily scenarios, such as going to the market to purchase fresh produce.
In addition, while the relocation of the fuel tank under the footrest allows for easier refueling without having to open the seat, it can pose a challenge when it comes to placing items compared to scooters with a flat floor (such as the Vision, Lead, or Sh).
Moreover, the rear suspension system on the Air Blade is relatively stiff, resulting in uncomfortable impacts for passengers seated at the back when encountering rough roads or speed bumps. However, on the flip side, users who enjoy speed, like Duc Viet, genuinely appreciate the robust and firm suspension system on the Honda Air Blade.
Nevertheless, as someone who loves riding, Duc Viet hopes for higher adjustable handlebars to facilitate an upright sitting position, minimizing fatigue in the hands, shoulders, and hips during long journeys.
When it comes to the riding experience, Hoang Anh expressed utmost satisfaction with the performance of his Honda Air Blade 125cc. The smooth, compact, and durable nature of the scooter encapsulates Hoang Anh’s overall impression. In contrast, the Honda Air Blade 160cc, as experienced by Duc Viet, provides an exhilarating ride that caters to personal preferences without compromising convenience.
In terms of operating costs, Hoang Anh mentioned that he only needs to refuel once a week, costing less than 100,000 VND. Every two months, the scooter undergoes an oil change, with regular maintenance expenses amounting to no more than a few hundred thousand VND. As for Duc Viet, who uses the 160cc Air Blade, his weekly fuel expense is slightly over 100,000 VND, and regular maintenance typically costs around 200,000 – 300,000 VND, which is highly reasonable.
All in all, Nguyen Hoang Anh rates his Honda Air Blade 125cc with 8.5/10 after over a year of usage. The outstanding durability, fuel efficiency, and smooth performance are the scooter’s key advantages. As for Bui Duc Viet, he rates the Honda Air Blade 160cc with 9.5/10 after nearly a year of riding. The powerful engine, safe ABS brakes, youthful design, and numerous modern features make the Air Blade truly worth the investment for users.
