On December 26, VinFast’s fanpage announced the official delivery date of the VF 6 smart electric car model to customers. This came as a surprise to many people. Specifically, after being launched in the Vietnamese market for 3 months (since September 29, 2023), the first commercial VF 6 cars will hit the road on December 30, 2023.

Customers who have made deposits for VinFast’s B-SUV model were excited to receive their cars before Tet, as it would meet their family’s transportation needs and allow them to celebrate the Lunar New Year in their favorite car. Hau Vu, a member of an electric car forum, shared, “What I like the most is not having to pay extra money to receive the car before Tet like many gasoline car buyers. I am very satisfied with VinFast’s fair and thoughtful customer care,” which received many supportive comments from other members.
What’s even more impressive is that VinFast will deliver the VF 6 cars just 2 months after deposits have been made. This waiting period is comparable to that of some gasoline car models in the market. However, only VF 6 customers will have the exhilarating experience of being among the first people in the world to own this brand-new car model. This further reinforces the reputation of the Vietnamese automaker, as they are committed to delivering cars to customers in 2023. Thanh Nguyen, an excited customer who was contacted by VinFast to receive his car, shared, “VinFast is true to its word.”
Therefore, VF 6 will be the 5th electric car model officially launched by VinFast, following VF e34, VF 8, VF 9, and VF 5 Plus. With the delivery of VF 6 just 2 months after pre-ordering (since October 20, 2023), VinFast is demonstrating its expertise in technology and optimizing the production process by gradually reducing the time from deposit to delivery.

Positioned as a car model for Vietnamese families in the B-SUV segment, VF 6 was first introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show CES 2022 in the US on January 6, 2022, along with other electric car models in VinFast’s product range. In the Vietnamese market, the car was officially launched on September 29, 2023, and started accepting deposits on October 20, 2023.
VF 6 Plus features a superior 150 kW engine and 310 Nm in the B segment.
VF 6 comes in two versions: Base and Plus. The Base version has a listed price of 675 million VND (excluding battery) and 765 million VND (including battery), while the Plus version has a listed price of 765 million VND (excluding battery) and 855 million VND (including battery). Both versions of VF 6 are equipped with an LFP battery with a capacity of 59.6 kWh, providing an operating range of 399 km and 381 km per full charge (according to WLTP standard). The electric motor has a maximum power of 100 kW and 150 kW, corresponding to a maximum torque of 135 Nm and 310 Nm, which is superior to gasoline car models in the same segment, offering an exciting and thrilling driving experience.
Like other members of VinFast’s “electric vehicle family,” VF 6 boasts advanced technologies and intelligent features such as pre-collision warning, lane change warning, front/rear parking assistance, blind-spot warning, 360-degree surround view monitoring, and VinFast virtual assistant with multi-dialect Vietnamese voice interaction for controlling the car, asking questions, and even telling jokes.
Starting from early 2024, VinFast plans to add more ADAS features to VF 6 (Plus version) through free remote software updates. These added features include support for moving in congested traffic, highway driving assistance, lane keeping assistance and lane centering control, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, emergency braking (front/rear), and more, making the car smarter over time and providing users with new experiences.
Customers who made deposits for VF 6 will start receiving their cars from December 30, 2023.
The VF 6 comes with a monthly battery lease fee of only 1.8 million VND if the mileage is below 3,000 km/month, and 3 million VND if the mileage exceeds 3,000 km/month (unlimited mileage). According to calculations, the electric B-SUV has an energy cost of less than 500 VND/km, which is 2 to 3 times lower than that of gasoline cars in the same segment.
In addition to lower energy costs, the VF 6 also offers the advantage of very affordable maintenance costs due to its simpler structure with an electric motor powertrain compared to traditional gasoline cars. This results in significantly fewer repair and replacement parts. The more the VF 6 electric car is driven, the more cost-saving the owner will enjoy. This advantage quickly wins the hearts of many Vietnamese families.
