The MG5 is currently the most affordable C-segment sedan available in the Vietnamese market. However, its sales performance has been suboptimal, resulting in the presence of 2022 MG5 models (with 2022 VIN numbers) that are still in stock. To clear the inventory, dealerships have decided to heavily discount the 2022 VIN MG5 models.

Consequently, a dealership in the Hanoi area is currently offering the 2022 VIN MG5 standard variant at a price of only 370 million VND. This represents a significant discount of 153 million VND compared to the listed price of 523 million VND. Furthermore, the discounted price is comparable to A-segment models in Vietnam, such as the Kia Morning, Hyundai Grand i10, and Toyota Wigo.

Naturally, the availability of these attractively priced 2022 VIN MG5 STD models will be limited in terms of color and quantity. Currently, this dealership has only 2 MG5 STD models with 2022 VIN numbers available, in red and black colors.

There are no differences in terms of design or equipment between the 2022 VIN MG5 STD and the 2023 models. However, these models may experience higher depreciation if resold.

In Vietnam, the MG5 is available in 2 versions: STD and Lux, with prices ranging from 523 to 588 million VND. Additionally, the Chinese automaker introduced a variant of the MG5 with the previous design in September of this year, priced from 399 to 499 million VND.

Inside the car, the MG5 STD is furnished with fabric seats, a 3-spoke sports steering wheel with integrated function buttons, an analog instrument cluster with a 3.5-inch screen, a 10-inch touchscreen center display, support for Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity, and a 4-speaker sound system.

Under the hood, the MG5 STD is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers a maximum power of 113 horsepower and a peak torque of 150 Nm. The engine is paired with an 8-speed simulated CVT transmission and a front-wheel drive system.

Lastly, the car is equipped with safety features such as 2 airbags, ABS with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC), traction control system, cornering brake control, hill start assist, tire pressure monitoring, reverse camera, and rear parking sensors.
