Last weekend, a gathering of nearly a hundred rare vintage cars for the upper class took place at Van Hoa Dam Sen Park in Saigon. The event showcased various types of vehicles such as sports cars, military vehicles, motorcycles, and scooters, attracting the special attention of the local residents.

The people of Saigon were captivated by the many beautiful vintage cars on display.

In an interview with VietNamNet’s car reporter, Mr. Pham Minh Chien, a vintage motorcycle enthusiast who attended the event, expressed his thoughts. He said, “Most of the motorcycles and Jeeps present here were brought by members of vintage car clubs. There are many Jeeps and Vespas from the pre-liberation period, as well as numerous rare Honda Cub motorcycles.”

There were vintage Vespas over 60 years old on display.

According to Mr. Chien, apart from the original vintage cars, there were also many cars customized in the Japanese style, which left a strong impression.

The Lambretta scooters were imported to Vietnam from the ’50s to ’60s of the last century and became a stylish symbol at that time.

“There are many reasons why members keep these seemingly old vintage cars. Partly out of passion, partly to preserve childhood memories, some people see them as treasures of the subsidy era, so they cherish them…”, Mr. Chien shared.

A military Jeep was displayed at the event.

In addition to the original vintage cars, the models of cars brought by members of car enthusiasts clubs stood out. Examples include the Jeep A2, Jeep CJ5, Jeep Willys MB, motorcycles, Vespa scooters, Peugeot 203, Honda, and more. It’s worth noting that all the vehicles participating in the festival are still in good working condition.
