The Ferrari 250 GTO supercar that was auctioned off has the chassis number #3851 GT. It is one of the most sought-after supercar models among car collectors. Only 39 units of this supercar were ever produced, making it extremely rare. The 250 GTO is highly regarded for its ability to perform well on both streets and racetracks.
This record-breaking supercar was manufactured in the 19th century and has been meticulously maintained for over 49 years, starting from 1965 until the present. It was produced in September 1962 and was initially sold to a French racer. It was used as the runner-up in the Tour de France race in 1962.
On the Montlhery Autodrome racetrack, the supercar was involved in an accident but was later repaired. It was then sold to racer Paolo Colombo a year later. Before ending up with Fabrizio Violati in 1965, the Ferrari 250 GTO changed hands twice. Violati eventually donated the car to the Maranello Rosso Museum.
Currently, there is another Ferrari 250 GTO available for sale in Germany, with a staggering price tag of $62.7 million. However, this particular model is still looking for its next owner.
