A driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe diesel in Thanh Hoa recently had an unfortunate experience when he went to a fuel station to refuel his car. Instead of filling it with diesel fuel, the attendant mistakenly filled it with A95 gasoline.
On April 16, 2023, at around 3:30 pm, the driver visited the Ngoc Hiep – Dong Tan – Thanh Hoa gas station to refuel. He clearly stated that he wanted 10 liters of diesel fuel. However, when he returned after paying, he discovered that the attendant had mistakenly filled his car with almost 10 liters of gasoline.
The gas station where the incident occurred
At the time of refueling, the car was still running and had very little fuel left in the tank. The gas station attendant, who was only on the job for 20 days, admitted that he saw the word “Diesel” on the fuel cap but made a mistake due to lack of concentration. He poured gasoline into the tank while the driver was collecting money.

Immediately, the car owner contacted the manufacturer and was instructed to tow the car back to the garage/manufacturer to drain the fuel tank and address the fuel filter.
After the incident, the car owner contacted the gas station owner multiple times, but they denied responsibility and only directed him to speak with the attendant who made the mistake.
Finally, at 5:20 pm on the same day, the car owner had to call for roadside assistance to have the car taken back to Hyundai Thanh Hoa for resolution.
