After two unsuccessful auctions, the Ha Tinh Police have decided to lower the starting price of a batch of assets comprising of 7 vehicles (6 cars and 1 motorcycle) in order to find customers for the next auction.

Initially, this batch of assets comprising of 7 vehicles had a starting price of 10.5 billion VND, but the management unit has now reduced it to 9.5 billion VND.

Following the two unsuccessful auctions, this lot of vehicles will continue to be “listed” for the 3rd auction. According to the announcement, bidders must deposit 1.9 billion VND in advance and submit 500,000 VND/document to participate in the 3rd auction.

The auction will be conducted by indirect voting through the postal system, using the upward bidding method. Each bid will be in increments of 100 million VND.

The selling documents and registration documents for the auction can be obtained from December 19, 2023 to January 5, 2024. The announcement of the 3rd auction price will take place on the morning of January 8, 2024.

Previously, in early October and late November, this batch of assets was auctioned by the Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency – Ha Tinh Police. However, both auctions failed due to lack of participation.

This batch of assets mainly comprises of luxury cars, including:

Volkwagens Beetle car, yellow color, manufactured in 1999 in Mexico.
Lexus LX 570 car, black color, 5.7L capacity, manufactured in 2018 in Japan.
Range Rover car, black-blue color, 2.0L capacity, manufactured in 2016 in the UK.
Range Rover car, white color, 2.0L capacity, manufactured in 2016 in the UK.
Hyundai Santa Fe car, white color, manufactured in 2014 in China.
Kia Sportage car, black color, manufactured in 2005 in South Korea.
Ducati Multistrada motorcycle, manufactured in 2017 in Italy, 1,198cc capacity.

All of these vehicles are confiscated assets and belong to the state treasury established through collective ownership.

Despite the lower selling price, it will be challenging to successfully auction this batch of vehicles as individuals interested in buying will typically only purchase one or two vehicles. Car dealers, on the other hand, may have difficulty making a profit and will therefore consider their options carefully.
