Haima, the Chinese car brand, along with its distributor Carvivu, unveiled two new car models, the 7X and 7X-E, in Vietnam on December 17, 2023. The 7X-E is the electric version of the 7X and is the first all-electric MPV to be introduced in the Vietnamese market.
In Vietnam, the Haima 7X-E is available in two versions: Standard and Premium. The Standard version is priced at 1,111 billion VND, while the Premium version is priced at 1.23 billion VND. Customers who make a deposit of 30 million VND will receive a discount of 100 million VND on the car’s price. With the discount, the prices for the Haima 7X-E are 1.011 billion VND for the Standard version and 1.13 billion VND for the Premium version.

The Haima 7X-E shares the same design and basic specifications as its sibling, the 7X. It has dimensions of 4,815 x 1,874 x 1,720 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,860 mm. These dimensions put the Chinese MPV duo in competition with the Toyota Innova Cross and Hyundai Custin in Vietnam.
Like the 7X, the Haima 7X-E features sleek lines and angular cuts. Being an electric car, it does not have a front grille.

In the Standard version, the Haima 7X-E comes with halogen headlights, while the Premium version has LED headlights with automatic on/off and intelligent high beam control. Both versions are equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, regular doors (no electric sliding doors), and rear windshield defrosters. Additional features such as a panoramic sunroof, roof rack, heated rearview mirrors, and a power tailgate with a trunk lid sensor are only available in the Premium version.

The interior of the Haima 7X-E provides a 7-seater space with a 2+2+3 configuration. The Standard version features a sofa-like function for the front two rows of seats, a 56-degree reclining second-row seat, a 60:40 folding third-row seat, independent air conditioning, and a 12V power outlet. The highlight of the Standard version is the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and touchscreen display, which supports smartphone connectivity via Huawei’s Hicar software.
The Premium version offers additional features such as heated/ventilated front seats, one-touch/open/close windows with anti-pinch function on all four doors, an air filtration system, PM2.5 dust filter, voice control, home device connectivity, and wireless smartphone charging.

When it comes to safety features, there are differences between the Standard and Premium versions. The Standard version is equipped with 4 airbags, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control, tire pressure monitoring, electronic parking brake, temporary auto hold, and cruise control.
The Premium version offers additional safety features including 6 airbags, front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, lane change assist, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, speed limit assist, active emergency braking, front collision warning, blind-spot warning, lane departure warning, door opening warning, automatic parking assist, and remote parking control.
Both versions of the Haima 7X-E are powered by an electric motor located on the front axle, delivering a maximum power of 201 horsepower and a peak torque of 340 Nm. The battery pack has a capacity of 71.37 kWh, allowing the car to travel up to 460 km on a full charge according to NEDC standards. The charging time from 30% to 80% using a fast charger is 27 minutes, while a slow AC charger takes 11.5 hours for a full charge. The Premium version also comes with a charging cable and an external 220V power supply.

The Haima 7X-E comes with a 5-year or 100,000 km warranty, whichever comes first. The battery is covered by an 8-year or 120,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.
Overall, the Standard version of the Haima 7X-E may not offer impressive features considering its price tag of over 1 billion VND. The selling price could be a major challenge for this car in convincing Vietnamese consumers, along with the brand factor.
