Honda Accord: Making Profit Despite Over 3,500km Driven in Nearly 30 Years

The 1995 Honda Accord has been generating excitement in the United States and seems to have found a new proprietor.

In December, Vern Eide Honda dealership in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA posted an article that stirred up controversy. The article highlighted a 1995 Honda Accord sedan as its main subject. From the pictures provided, it is evident that the car has been impeccably maintained. The dealership stands behind the quality of the vehicle, guaranteeing its pristine condition. Both the leather seats and exterior tires appear brand new. With only 2,187 miles on the odometer, which is approximately 3,520 kilometers, it’s safe to say that this 1995 Honda Accord is a showroom-worthy model, even after all these years.

The controversy surrounding this car arises from a piece of paper attached to the windshield, revealing the dealership’s asking price of $24,911, equivalent to 606.8 million Vietnamese Dong. This amount surpasses the original price of the sedan nearly three decades ago, which was $22,470. In other words, there seems to be a profit margin after all these years. However, when accounting for inflation, it’s more accurate to say that the car has held its value rather than making a substantial profit.

Despite its exceptional condition, it is highly unlikely that someone would be willing to invest such a significant amount of money in this specific Honda Accord. It’s worth mentioning that this particular model is not considered rare, as countless ones were produced, with over 13 million cars in the US alone.

For reference, same-generation Honda Accords in the American used car market typically range from $1,500 to $2,500, equivalent to 36.5 to 60.9 million Vietnamese Dong.

However, shortly after posting information about this “one-of-a-kind” Accord, the dealership swiftly removed the car. This removal signifies the likelihood that the car has already been sold and is no longer available for purchase at the dealership.

The asking price of nearly $25,000 for a 1995 Accord, even in pristine condition, seems exorbitant when compared to similar cars. However, for avid collectors, this amount might be considered a worthwhile investment.
