The Honda booth at Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 will showcase the WR-V Field Explorer Concept and Accord e:HEV Sports Line. These models demonstrate how users can personalize their cars with authentic Honda accessories.
Starting with the WR-V, also known as the Honda Elevate in India, this affordable SUV will be imported from India to Japan starting in March. Honda aims to create an adventurous version called the “Field Explorer” concept for off-road enthusiasts.
The concept’s main highlight is the new front grille featuring the Honda logo and three yellow LED light strips, which match the fog lights. Chrome and aluminum trim has been swapped with black accents, and the headlights and taillights have a tinted appearance. Other modifications include black wheels wrapped in off-road tires, side body protectors, and a roof rack.
The Japanese market Honda WR-V measures 4,312 mm in length and is powered by a 1.5L gasoline engine producing 119 horsepower. It is exclusively equipped with a front-wheel drive CVT transmission. While the lack of an AWD version limits its off-road capability, the standard WR-V boasts a ground clearance of 220 mm.
As for the Honda Accord e:HEV Sports Line, it is a sporty sedan model enhanced with genuine Honda accessories. It sports dark-colored 19-inch alloy wheels and sleek black aerodynamic parts. It is expected to be available in the Japanese market in spring 2024 and will be solely offered with a hybrid powertrain.
In addition to the WR-V and Accord, Honda’s lineup at Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 will include the Honda Civic Type R Mugen Gr.A & Gr.B editions, which were first displayed at last year’s exhibition. The automaker will also showcase a total of 8 racing cars from various motorsport categories.
Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan from January 12 to January 14.
