Huawei is partnering with Seres to develop a new electric car, the Aito M9, a 6-seater SUV. This collaboration comes after Huawei’s previous partnership with Chery, where they worked together on the Luxeed S7, which is positioned as a superior alternative to the Tesla Model S.

This new joint venture introduces some exciting features, including a projector that offers passengers a cinema-like experience both inside and outside the sleek Chinese-designed SUV.

The Aito M9, with its stylish design and spacious interior, will compete with rivals such as the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS, as well as some lesser-known local models. The high-tech headlights with built-in projectors are capable of projecting images and videos, creating a 100-inch screen on any flat surface.

Inside the car, there is a retractable 32-inch control panel that aims to replicate the “Cinema Screen” found in the BMW i7. Additionally, the control panel features three displays that form a panoramic scanning screen similar to Mercedes’ Super Screen, along with a large display on the windshield. In addition, each of the four rear passengers will have a tablet running on Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4.

The Aito M9 SUV offers flexible seating arrangements and can be configured as a double bed. Each seat is electronically adjustable and comes with heating and ventilation systems.

The Aito M9 is powered by a fully electric drivetrain with a power output of 390 kW (523 hp) and a range of over 630 km. It is also an Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV), where a 1.5-liter fossil fuel engine acts as a generator, providing a combined power output of 365 kW (490 hp) and a range of 1,350 to 1,400 km.

The Aito M9 is expected to be available in early 2024, with prices starting from 469,800 Yan (approximately 1.6 billion VND) for the M9 EREV Max and going up to just under 2 billion VND for the M9 EV Ultra.
