Hyundai Thanh Cong has announced that they will be introducing a new urban SUV as part of the upcoming Hyundai Experience Day event on December 16-17.
The new model is most likely the Hyundai Venue, which is already available in several countries including Korea, the United States, India, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia.
According to sales consultants, the Hyundai Venue will be offered in Vietnam with 2 versions, featuring the same interior color, and 6 exterior color options: white, black, red, silver, metallic gray, and blue.
The car has dimensions of 1,770 mm x 4,040 mm x 1,590 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,520 mm. With these dimensions, the Venue is positioned in the small urban SUV segment, competing with models such as the Kia Sonet and Toyota Raize. The addition of the Venue will further diversify Hyundai’s range of high-riding vehicles in Vietnam, covering segments from A to E.
Upon its launch in Vietnam, the Venue will come equipped with notable features including LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, a digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch infotainment screen, tire pressure sensors, and a 6-airbag system.
The engine options for the Vietnam market have not been confirmed yet. In other markets, the Venue is available with engine options such as a 1.2L gasoline engine, a 1.6L gasoline engine, a 1.0L turbocharged engine, and a 1.5L diesel engine. These engines can be paired with a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
In terms of safety equipment, the Venue is expected to come with 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring, rear parking sensors, cruise control, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, a reverse camera, and automatic high beam headlights.
It is highly likely that the Venue will be locally assembled in Vietnam, following the trend of most Hyundai models.
Currently, detailed information about the car and its pricing has not yet been disclosed by the company. In the Philippines market, the Hyundai Venue is priced between 439 and 472 million VND. Meanwhile, in the US market, the price ranges from 429 to 538 million VND.
