Policing with supercars has become commonplace in Dubai, with the security forces equipped with models like the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, Bugatti Veyron 16.4, Ferrari FF, Porsche 918 Spyder, and more. However, the Italian police have recently surprised everyone by adding the Lamborghini Urus Performante to their patrol team.
This super SUV will be put into use starting from 2024. Apart from regular patrol duties, it will also be utilized in emergency cases to swiftly transport donated organs for transplantation surgeries. Following the footsteps of the Italian police’s Lamborghini Huracan, this will be the second vehicle of its kind used for this purpose.
The design of this car, unlike regular Urus models, is the work of Lamborghini’s Centro Stile division. The exterior combines the traditional blue and white colors used by the Italian police for their patrol vehicles, along with the three-color stripe depicting the national flag and the reflective police logo on both sides of the car.
In addition to its special paint job, the super SUV features slim LED lights and a siren, similar to those found on dedicated security vehicles.
The car’s interior has been upgraded, boasting special equipment such as a notification screen positioned above the central control panel and an armored compartment for weapons. The cargo area is equipped with a portable refrigerator to preserve organs during transportation, as well as a vibrating heart machine for emergency rescue situations.
Under the hood, the Lamborghini Urus Performante is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, capable of delivering a maximum power of 657 horsepower and a peak torque of 850 Nm. The car also features an all-wheel drive system, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 307 km/h.
The Urus Performante is the sixth Lamborghini model to be deployed by the Italian Highway Patrol, marking the 20th anniversary of the partnership between the automaker and the Italian police force in 2024.
In Vietnam, a Lamborghini Urus Performante is available for approximately 16.5 billion VND when officially imported, while its price in Europe is around 209,000 Euros (~ 6.5 billion VND).
