Kawasaki EV made waves at the Intermot exhibition.

The Kawasaki EV motorcycle from Japanese manufacturer Kawasaki garnered attention at the Intermot trade show. While this bike had previously made an appearance in Japan at the Suzuka 8 Hours race, it is the first time that Kawasaki officially confirmed the existence of this electric bike.

In terms of its design, the Kawasaki EV closely resembles the Z400 naked bike model. However, the electric motor boasts a more streamlined design compared to the internal combustion engine of the Z400.

Masaya Tsuruno, CEO of Kawasaki Europe, clarified that the Kawasaki EV is currently a concept bike and is being showcased exclusively at Intermot. Nevertheless, the company sees this as a stepping stone for the development of electric bikes in the future.

Kawasaki emphasizes its commitment to continuing work on internal combustion engine machines. However, they are also exploring options related to electronic fuels (E-fuel) and biofuels. Additionally, Kawasaki is considering the potential of hydrogen engines.

Previously, Kawasaki Motors Chairman Hiroshi Ito had pledged that the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer would release at least three electric bike models globally in 2022.

The Kawasaki EV features a design that closely resembles the Z400.

In Vietnam, the Kawasaki brand is currently only distributing motorcycles with engine capacities of 175cc and above, requiring riders to possess an A2 driver’s license. Most recently, Kawasaki introduced the Z H2 naked bike model, which is considered to be a strong contender in the premium naked bike segment alongside the Ducati Streetfighter V4 S.
