JLR has announced that the all-electric Ranger Rover will have the same power as the V8 engine version, along with a range of modern technologies and exceptional off-road capabilities in its segment.

British automaker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) recently announced that it is now accepting pre-orders for the all-electric Ranger Rover. The company has released the first teaser image of this highly anticipated model and stated that it will be “the quietest and most refined Range Rover we have ever built”.

Land Rover began developing the Ranger Rover Electric a few years ago and recently conducted testing in various locations around the world, from freezing conditions in Sweden to scorching temperatures in Dubai. The brand is rigorously testing and evaluating the durability of the electric drivetrain system, battery, engine cooling capabilities, and body durability before officially launching this SUV model to the market.

JLR stated that the Range Rover Electric will have performance equivalent to a V8-powered Range Rover, while also offering better towing, water wading, and off-road capabilities than any other electric SUV currently on the market.

The Range Rover Electric features a longitudinally mounted MLA modular platform developed by JLR. This SUV model is designed, engineered, and manufactured in the UK alongside the brand’s current range of mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid models. Additionally, the battery and electric drivetrain will be manufactured and assembled at the brand’s electric engine manufacturing center in Wolverhampton. The Range Rover Electric will also have an 800-volt electrical architecture and fast charging capability. Like all Land Rover models currently on the market, this SUV will offer over-the-air software updates.

Thomas Müller, Director of Engineering at JLR, said: “We are aiming to create the quietest and most refined Range Rover yet.” “The magical elements that underpin the success of the Range Rover remain unchanged: timeless, minimalistic design; serene cabin environment; and versatile capability. And as has been repeated throughout history, the Range Rover Electric will set new standards for a luxurious and modern all-electric SUV.”
