The price of the Yamaha PG-1 in Vietnam is 31 million VND (including 10% VAT). However, due to limited supply, some dealers may have different prices for this model.
Yamaha PG-1 was introduced to Vietnamese consumers in early December 2023. This motorcycle combines the agility of an urban bike with the adventurous nature of off-road models. The PG-1 is a new motorcycle in a segment that has no competitors in the Vietnamese market. In other markets, it will compete with the Honda CT125.
In Vietnam, the Yamaha PG-1 is priced at 31 million VND (including 10% VAT). The estimated on-road price for this model is around 34 million VND. Customers also have the option to purchase genuine upgrade packages for the PG-1, such as Casual, Camper, or Tracker, with prices ranging from 3.2 to 10.7 million VND.
However, according to research conducted at some Yamaha PG-1 dealers, there are inconsistent prices in the market. In theory, if customers purchase the Yamaha PG-1 in December, they will enjoy a price that includes 8% VAT, amounting to 30.44 million VND. The reason behind this is Decree 44/2023/NÐ-CP, which implements value-added tax reduction policies from July 1 to December 31.
However, in reality, many dealers are quoting the Yamaha PG-1 at prices ranging from 31 to 32 million VND (including 10% VAT). As a result, customers will have to pay an additional amount of 600 to 1.6 million VND in order to own the Yamaha PG-1. Additionally, the expected delivery time is February 2024.
The fluctuating prices of the Yamaha PG-1 in the market can be attributed to the limited supply. Another factor that might contribute to the shortage of the PG-1 is “speculation” by private motorcycle dealers.
According to research, many dealers placed large orders for the Yamaha PG-1 on the day it was launched. Subsequently, when receiving the first batch of bikes, the dealers sell them at channel prices, which are 3 to 5 million VND lower than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price. Consequently, including registration fees, users will have to spend nearly 40 million VND.
The Yamaha PG-1 is a playful and stylish off-road motorcycle. It is suitable for daily commuting in the city and can also conquer challenging roads on long adventures.
The Yamaha PG-1 is equipped with a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, 2-valve SOHC engine. It is air-cooled and has a displacement of 115cc. The engine produces nearly 9 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 9.5 Nm at 5,500 rpm, paired with a 4-speed gearbox.
