23 supercars and luxury cars seized by Turkish police being used as police cars
Turkish police have recently confiscated a total of 23 supercars and luxury cars worth approximately $3.5 million (around 85 billion VND) from a drug lord. The collection includes prestigious coupes like the Bentley Continental GT and the Porsche Taycan, as well as high-performance sports cars such as the Ferrari 458 and the Volkswagen Golf R. The range also comprises luxurious SUVs like the Range Rover Sport and the Mercedes-Benz GLS. All these vehicles will be equipped with special police equipment for their new role as police cars.
According to the Daily Telegraph, these cars were previously owned by a notorious drug lord named Hakan Ayik, who led the Comanchero Motorcycle gang and had an estimated fortune of $1 billion. Ayik and 36 other individuals were apprehended in Istanbul last month.
The Turkish Minister of Interior, Yerlikaya, commented on the arrest of Hakan Ayik: “Thanks to the successful operations against organized criminal organizations carried out by our Istanbul Police Department, 23 vehicles have been seized. As per the court’s decision, these vehicles have been handed over to the Turkish police to ensure public safety and national security.”
