The Top Supercars Imported into Vietnam in 2023

The year 2023 has come to an end, and we are welcoming the first day of 2024. First of all, we would like to send our readers a lucky New Year, 365 days of prosperity, and abundant health. Looking back at the past year, we have noticed significant differences in 2023 compared to previous years, especially in the supercar market, which has seen a lot of fluctuations.

In particular, the number of supercars imported into Vietnam in 2023 has decreased significantly compared to 2022, with most of the cars being imported from the official dealers. Let’s explore the supercars that arrived in Vietnam in 2023: Minh “Nhua” dominates with his 200 billion McLaren Elva.

Ferrari 296

In 2023, at least 4 Ferrari 296 supercars were imported from the official dealers, including 3 GTB models, which are coupes in gray and yellow, and 1 Ferrari 296 GTS, a convertible version owned by a wealthy individual in Bac Lieu.

Unlike the remaining 3 Ferrari 296 GTB cars, the Ferrari 296 GTS convertible can easily open or close its roof in just 14 seconds. When the roof is closed, the exterior of the Ferrari 296 GTS convertible is not much different from the coupe version.

The Ferrari 296 GTS convertible is equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that includes a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine and an electric motor installed between the internal combustion engine and the 8-speed gearbox. This allows the Ferrari 296 GTS convertible to have a total power output of 818 horsepower and a maximum torque of 740 Nm.

This engine allows the Ferrari 296 GTS convertible from Bac Lieu to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 330 km/h.

Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica

At the end of last year, a Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica supercar was temporarily imported into Vietnam, but it wasn’t until mid-2023 that the first car was delivered to a customer. The price of the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica in Vietnam starts from 19 billion VND, and the first car was registered with the auction number plate 51K-899.99 for 2.7 billion VND.

The Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica supercar is quite special as it borrows the front design of the Lamborghini Sian and Terzo Millenio Concept, along with many interesting and unique features. It also has a new design for the wheels and a separate rear panel between the engine compartment and the roof, a new rear bumper with extended intake grilles, and a hexagonal-shaped exhaust pipe, as well as a fixed rear wing.

The new Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica is powered by a V10 engine with a displacement of 5.2 liters and naturally aspirated, producing a maximum power output of 631 horsepower and a peak torque of 565 Nm. Not only powerful, but the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica is also lighter than the Huracan EVO RWD by about 10 kg thanks to its carbon fiber hood.

The Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, similar to the Huracan EVO RWD, before reaching a top speed of 325 km/h. The car is equipped with rear-wheel steering, torque vectoring system, and integrated Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata control system.

McLaren 765LT

The McLaren 765LT was produced in a limited edition of 765 coupes and a similar number of convertibles. After 4 non-officially imported coupe models, finally, a daring buyer has purchased the convertible version. Quoc Cuong, a businessman, is the proud owner of the one-of-a-kind McLaren 765LT Spider in Vietnam.

The power of the McLaren 765LT Spider comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine, producing a maximum power output of 755 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 800 Nm at 5,500 rpm. This power is transmitted to the rear axle through a 7-speed SSG transmission, allowing the convertible version of the McLaren 765LT to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 km/h.

The optional features for this limited edition supercar include Senna seats, front-axle lift system, 360-degree camera, and McLaren Special Operations system, allowing customers to personalize their cars according to their preferences. Each convertible McLaren 765LT Spider is numbered, and the specific serial number is engraved on a stainless steel badge placed on the door sill of the car.

Ferrari SF90 Stradale

Last year, the official distributor of Ferrari supercars in Vietnam handed over and signed many sales contracts with Vietnamese millionaires, and among them, the most notable is the Ferrari SF90 Stradale owned by Hoang Kim Khanh.

This is also the only officially imported Ferrari SF90 Stradale in the country, with the remaining 3 cars being imported from outside, with 2 cars registered with the NG license plates, and 1 car without a license plate yet, despite being the first car to arrive in Vietnam. Interestingly, instead of auctioning for a beautiful license plate like other wealthy buyers, Hoang Kim Khanh chose to personalize the license plate, resulting in an equally impressive 51H-886.68 license plate for his Ferrari SF90 Stradale.

Hoang Kim Khanh’s Ferrari SF90 Stradale is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 769 horsepower and a peak torque of 800 Nm. This engine is combined with a hybrid system consisting of 3 electric motors. One electric motor is sandwiched between the V8 engine and the new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The other 2 electric motors are placed on the front axle of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale.

Powering these 3 electric motors is a 7.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Combined with the V8 engine, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale hybrid supercar has a total maximum power output of nearly 1,000 horsepower. The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is the first-ever plug-in hybrid supercar in Ferrari’s history.

The power of the plug-in hybrid powertrain allows the Ferrari SF90 Stradale owned by Hoang Kim Khanh to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, and then takes an additional 4.2 seconds to accelerate to 200 km/h before reaching a top speed of 340 km/h. Additionally, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale can travel up to 25 km on electric power alone from its front axle motors.

Nissan GT-R Nismo Special Edition

The Nissan GT-R Nismo Special Edition is a limited edition street-legal supercar. Out of the 300 globally produced Nissan GT-R Nismo Special Edition cars, only one car has been imported into Vietnam, which demonstrates the level of passion for speed among the wealthy population in Vietnam.

The Nissan GT-R Nismo Special Edition imported to Vietnam is painted in Nismo Stealth Gray, which is the iconic color of this limited edition supercar. It is also equipped with the Nismo Appearance package, featuring red accents. Compared to the standard Nissan GT-R Nismo, the Special Edition has many carbon fiber details added to the exterior of the car, including the front/rear bumpers, side sills, LED light strips, front fender vents, side mirror caps, and rear wing. The car is also equipped with exclusive new 20-inch aluminum wheels by Rays, which are lighter and stiffer.

The Nissan GT-R Nismo Special Edition is still based on the legendary VR38DETT engine, a V6 engine with a displacement of 3.8 liters and twin-turbocharging. Fortunately, Nissan has modified the turbine shape of the engine and the 6-speed dual-clutch transmission comes with an updated software, resulting in smoother gear shifts compared to the previous model. The R mode is now more aggressive than the previous Nissan GT-R Nismo. The car has a 4-wheel drive system, accelerates from 0 to 97 km/h in 2.9 seconds, and has a top speed of 330 km/h.
