THACO Auto and BMW have introduced the intelligent connectivity system ConnectedDrive in Vietnam. This advanced technology, developed by the BMW Group, allows customers to connect with their vehicles through the My BMW application on their smartphones.
The My BMW app takes full advantage of the ConnectedDrive system and has over 10 million users. Through the app, customers can manage vehicle information, update software, check vehicle status, and control their vehicles remotely. The new BMW 3-Series is the first car in Vietnam to be equipped with ConnectedDrive connectivity.
In addition to familiar driving assistance technologies such as parking assistance and rear-view camera integration, the BMW 330i M Sport also features ConnectedDrive with new digital features like online mapping. The BMW map understands user habits and suggests the most convenient route to their desired location. It also allows online searching for favorite locations on the map. Users can create personal routes based on their travel preferences.
The voice control system on the BMW 3-Series has been upgraded with the Intelligent Personal Assistant. With Compatible with BMW OS 8.0 operating system, the virtual assistant can be activated by the command “Hey BMW”. With ConnectedDrive, users can view weather information, open maps, activate applications, and look up information, in addition to controlling basic car systems.
The ConnectedDrive system also allows users to remotely update software to ensure they always have the latest versions of the operating system and intelligent applications.
Conveniences on the My BMW App
The “My BMW” app was introduced in Vietnam in July 2020 and offers various features through its four main tabs: Vehicle, Map, Services & Store, and Profile.
The Vehicle tab displays information and functions related to the vehicle’s status, such as technical specifications. Users can remotely control the vehicle, locate it, and set up maintenance and repair services.
The Map tab provides travel plans, route details, and allows users to search for fuel stations, rest areas, and maintenance locations. Users can also send routing information to the vehicle in advance.
The Services & Store tab offers information about maintenance schedules, repairs, and allows users to explore the latest BMW models.
The Profile tab allows users to personalize their app experience and access their profile information. The app also features the digital key (BMW Digital Key) that allows users to use their smartphones or smartwatches as the main key.
After the 3-Series, the ConnectedDrive system will be expanded to other BMW models in the future. THACO Auto also offers a standard 5-year warranty package with unlimited mileage for customers purchasing BMW vehicles. The warranty period has been extended by an additional 2 years compared to before.
