UAZ was established in 1941 in Russia and in Vietnam, this line of cars is called “U-oát”. UAZ cars were widely used during the Soviet era for military and civilian purposes. Since 2000, UAZ has become part of the Sollers company.
UAZ is officially distributed in Vietnam through AutoK. The models that are brought to Vietnam include Patriot Hunter and Pickup. At the end of 2017, Vietnam and Russia signed an Amended Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of the Russian Federation on support for the production of motor vehicles with engines in the territory of Vietnam (Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding on automobiles).
Accordingly, Vietnam allows joint venture producers of Russian cars to import duty-free 2,550 complete vehicles and 13,500 car assembly kits in the 2018-2022 period for trial sales to test the capacity and market demand.

The interior of the Patriot cabin is equipped with a simple steering wheel with basic buttons. The dashboard features an integrated small screen for displaying rearview camera images. The seats are also basic in design and not too fancy.
