The upcoming months will see a flurry of new car models entering the domestic car market. Mitsubishi Xforce, Hyundai Venue, Haima 7X, and Lynk & Co 09 are some of the models that will be introduced to Vietnamese customers in the coming time, just in time for the peak shopping season of the year. Here are the cars that will debut in the Vietnamese market in the remaining months of 2023 and the beginning of 2024.

1. Mitsubishi Xforce

Vietnamese users are showing a lot of interest in the Mitsubishi Xforce, an imported model from Indonesia that will be officially launched on January 10, 2024. The car will be available in 4 versions.

The highest-end version of the Mitsubishi Xforce boasts a 2-tone exterior, power trunk, premium Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium sound system, and ADAS driving assist package, which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and mitigation, automatic headlights, forward vehicle movement reminder, blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert. The lower versions also come with ADAS, although with slightly fewer features.

The standard equipment of the Mitsubishi Xforce includes LED front and rear lights, shark fin antenna, 17-inch alloy wheels, electronic handbrake, start button, fabric seats, reverse camera… All versions of the Mitsubishi Xforce are powered by a 1.5L engine, capable of delivering a maximum power of 105 horsepower and a maximum torque of 141 Nm. The engine is paired with a CVT gearbox and front-wheel drive.

2. VinFast VF 7

VinFast VF 7, a pure electric SUV from the Vietnamese brand, is also attracting a lot of attention from consumers due to its attractive design, advanced technology, and powerful performance. The first commercial VF 7 models are expected to be handed over to customers before the Lunar New Year.

The listed price of VinFast VF 7 ranges from 850 to 999 million VND (Base and Plus versions, excluding battery). However, thanks to a 100% registration fee exemption and a 30 million VND discount on the selling price (for customers who make a deposit before 24h of December 30, 2023), the on-road price of the VF 7 is even lower than the listed price, making it more competitive in the C-SUV segment.

Furthermore, VinFast VF 7 is the most powerful intelligent electric car in the C segment. The Plus version is equipped with two electric motors, providing a maximum total power of 349 horsepower and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. The Base version, on the other hand, comes with a single electric motor, offering a maximum power of 174 horsepower and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. Both versions feature an all-wheel drive system, delivering an excellent driving experience.

Like other electric car models from VinFast, VF 7 comes with advanced driving assist features (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot warning, door opening warning, emergency automatic braking, 360-degree camera system… VinFast will continue to update and enhance these features for free in 2024.

In addition, VinFast VF 7 offers the VF Connect intelligent service package, which includes smart features like a virtual assistant with voice interaction in various Vietnamese dialects, vehicle control and inquiry, comedy storytelling, automatic emergency call service, intrusion detection and warning, real-time vehicle monitoring and display… These features are exclusively available on VinFast electric cars and set them apart from petrol models in the same segment.

3. Hyundai Venue

The next model to be launched in Vietnam this December is the Hyundai Venue. This global product from the Korean brand belongs to the A-segment crossover SUV segment and competes with rivals such as the Kia Sonet and Toyota Raize.

Compared to the Kia Sonet’s youthful and dynamic design, the Hyundai Venue follows a more restrained design style. The equipment configuration and distribution method of this model in Vietnam are currently unknown. However, in global markets, Hyundai offers a variety of engine options for the Venue.

The Venue comes with options such as a 1.2L petrol engine, a 1.0L turbocharged engine, or a 1.5L diesel engine. These engines deliver respective outputs of 83 horsepower, 120 horsepower, and 116 horsepower. The car is available with 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmissions. Additionally, users can also choose a 1.6L petrol engine with a power output of 121 horsepower.

The introduction of the Venue will provide Vietnamese customers with more options in the affordable crossover SUV segment, which is attracting many carmakers.

4. Haima 7X and Haima 7X-E

The next two new models to enter the Vietnamese market belong to the MPV segment and come from the Chinese brand Haima. They are named Haima 7X and Haima 7X-E. The petrol and pure electric versions of the 7X model will officially be available in Vietnam on December 17, 2023. These cars are imported from China, with the petrol version starting at around 850 million VND (~$37,400) and the electric version priced at over one billion VND (~$44,000).

With a futuristic design featuring soft, minimalist lines, the Haima 7X is equipped with 3 rows of seats in a 2+2+3 configuration. The middle row consists of two separate seats, while the last row comfortably accommodates 3 adults. Both the petrol and electric versions share almost identical exteriors and interiors.

The petrol-powered Haima 7X’s engine specifications have not been officially announced by the Chinese automaker. On the other hand, the pure electric 7X-E version will be equipped with a 71.37 kWh battery, allowing the car to travel a maximum distance of 510 km on a full charge. The electric motor mounted on the front axle delivers a power output of 201 horsepower and a torque of 340 Nm. With this power, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds.

5. Lynk & Co 09

Another Chinese car model about to be introduced in Vietnam is the Lynk & Co 09. This flagship SUV from the Chinese luxury brand comes with impressive features such as a 12.8-inch head-up display, a 12 + 6-inch central touch screen, NAPPA leather seats with a massage function, and 4 BOSE speakers…

The Lynk & Co 09 is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The car comes in mild-hybrid (MHEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants, with the highest power output reaching around 427 horsepower. However, there is currently no information available regarding the engine configuration of the Lynk & Co 09 version to be sold in Vietnam. The car will be introduced to Vietnamese customers on December 16, 2023, in Hanoi.
