In late 2013, Honda surprised everyone by introducing a compact and affordable SUV called the Vezel. It was considered as the younger sibling of the CR-V and served as a new global model under the Honda brand.
However, it is important to note that the name “Vezel” is only used in the Japanese market. In other markets like the US and Southeast Asia, the car is known as the HR-V. Honda has not yet announced the name under which the Vezel will be launched in the European market.
A leaked image of the Honda XR-V at the Chengdu Auto Show in China.
Recently, leaked images from the Chengdu Auto Show in China reveal that the Honda Vezel will have yet another name in the Chinese market – the XR-V. The XR-V is believed to be a new offering from the Dongfeng-Honda joint venture specifically targeted at Chinese consumers.
Unfortunately, there is limited information available about the Honda XR-V in the Chinese market at this time. However, based on the leaked images, it appears that the XR-V will have a design similar to the HR-V in the US and the Vezel in Japan.
One noticeable difference, though, is the rear end of the Honda XR-V in China. Honda has opted for a slimmer taillight cluster and a redesigned rear bumper, giving the XR-V a slightly different look compared to the HR-V and Vezel.
As of now, there are no images available of the front end of the Honda XR-V, so it remains uncertain if there will be any other distinctive features compared to its HR-V and Vezel counterparts.
